RE: Handrail

Looking to add handrail to fold up step on 2021 Montana 3931FB
There are pre-drilled mounting holes on left side of steps but can't seem to find part number for handrail that fits. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

On my 2018 3820FK, I got the handrail from Amazon. All you really needed to know was if it was a 4 or 3-step Morryde unit. When I traded that in for our 2021 385BR, I took the hand rail off and couldn't install it on the new unit as the bolts didn't line up. I ordered a new one off Amazon and it was identicle to what I already had. I ended up calling Morryde and was told that Keystone began installing a newer form of stairs and that the handrail won't be available at 3rd party sellers (aka Amazon...) until at least January. I ended up ordering it from Morryde and it was supposed to ship this past weekend or this week so I don't have it yet.

Be sure you will have room inside the unit for the handrail. (Sorry, I don't remember the dimension you need when the ladder is up.) In my FK, I had the rail only on the front stairs as the hallway prevented it from being installed on the back. With the BR, I'll have to leave the bonus room door open when the ladder is up so not a huge deal - especially since that door comes with a magnet to keep it in the open position.

If/when you call Morryde, have a pic of the white tag located under the stairs handy as they'll ask you the model number of your stairs. Price was within a dollar of the unit I bought and returned on Amazon.

Good luck!! You'll love the handle as we really miss it while waiting for the new one!!

I have the 3931 FB. Bought the handrail from Amazon. I believe 4 step but RV is closed up and 175 miles from me until January. Just a tip, I take it off when I trailer as when folded up it is really close to cabinet and do not want to chance rubbing while driving.

Jim - we have similar model to yours. Bought the accessory rail when we first bought the RV. I mounted it on the steps but the rail hit the base cabinet directly across from the door and would not work. I could not figure out any adjustment to make it work - so we returned the rail kit. DW really wanted the rail but just won’t work on our unit.

For 3921FB model - See pic below to illustrate where the handrail hits the cabinet when the steps are put up.

@ForBruce, we have different steps showing that Keystone changed stairs during the 2021 model year. The handrail on your invoice fits the STP214-006H stairs. The bolt holes on the handrail for those steps are 5 inches apart on both the upper and lower step. The steps on my 2021 385BR are model STP214-120H. The holes on the higher step are 6 inches apart while the lower step is 4 1/2 inches. Morryde shipped the handrail today so I won't know until it gets here if it looks different from yours altogether or if the only change is the bolt holes.

If your steps Mor-Ryd like ours you can get the handle through Walmart for around $56. I bought two last summer, one for us and one for our friends. Takes about 5 minutes to install and adds a lot of safety. Walmart was around $30 cheaper than CW.
