2025 295rl

Glad to part of this forum. Traded my old 34ft fifth wheel in for the new Montana High Country 295RL.. i live in Northern Mi, retired, and I am a wood turning artist. I enjoy hiking, biking kayaking, fishing & hunting. Looking forward to going cross county camping.. Hoping I don’t run into the major issues like frame flex.

Welcome aboard! We've enjoyed our HC for the past 6 years. The 295RL replaced our 305RL in the HC line up. They are very similar in size and weight. We have had no issues at all with frame flex. Seems like you should get similar performance...here's hoping

Again, welcome and enjoy the travels

Welcome to the club

We are from Houghton Lake and have a 2020 294RL. The was the same model as yours with the gas/electric fridge. We have made several long trips, Florida 2 times, Arizona, and Glacier National Park in Montana. We love ours. Have replaced the top cables on the bedroom slide and the black tank drain cable. Pretty minor issues. I have done alot of mods and additions. This year I did a lithium battery, solar panel, DC to DC charger before our Glacier trip. Spent a week in the park with no utilities. The system worked great. Even had enough power to keep the mini fridge in the basement powered up.

New 2025 295rl problems

Since we got our new 2025 HC 295, we are having problems. Before our rv trip, we had the dealer fix drawers that kept sliding out (had to put new drawer slides) and fix sensor light over stair that never came on (was wired backwards). After rv trip:
1. city water connect had terrible water pressure (at 2 different campgrounds) so the tankless water heater would not work. We used fresh tank the whole time in order to use water pump.
2. Day 2 notice a bolt coming up thru the kitchen floor in front of sink
3. While driving around a curve, water would gush out of the belly of RV (all tank releases were closed)
4. Front door red lock has loosed. Also stripped screws holding bracket of pass thru storage doors.
5. Never saw the black tank register over 1/3 full and so think there may be a bad sensor.
6. On last day, the outside sat connection hooked to our mobile dish dome stopped working. Confirmed by putting cable direct to dish box (worked like it should)
Has anyone had similar problems. Taking RV back for repairs.

All of us that have purchased a new RV have had these or other issues. It's the nature of the beast and will take a while to identify and repair all of the issues but you'll make your way through it. It took me about a year to get through the factory issues. Of course you'll continue to have to fix stuff along the way. Dragging your house behind you causes stuff to break. I have 45 trips on a 2022 295 and I'm always fixing something. We just returned from a week at the coast without an incident.

I am still curious what the bolt is for? I had one come up left of the island near the front of our couch. I tried screwing it back in but it wouldn't catch anything. I ended up just taking it out. The threads were not stripped so I assume there was a nut on it that fell off. That thing was 5-6 inches long.

I have had a couple occasions where water ran out from the underbelly, still not sure from what but I dropped the coroplast under the holding tanks to inspect. I didn't find much and wife said that each time it happened was after traveling in the rain. So when putting the coroplast back up I added a few more screws along the front and siliconed the edges. Haven't seen it since.

I’ll report back when diagnosed from dealer. I first noticed water sloshing around curves when my husband was picking up RV for first time and I was following behind in my car. We just assumed that the dealer had washed the RV and water had collected in in the rails. Our ‘shake out’ trip was to an area with no rain the whole time we were there. So this is very troubling.

This sounds like the overflow tube from the fresh water tank is disconnected/miss-located or siphoning and allows water to escape when rounding a corner.

It's not uncommon to have a floor screw back out. Chances are they missed the floor joist. I've had two back out. The dealer has a company they use to make a small cut in the lino, remove the screw and glue the lino back in place. The fix is barely noticeable. https://wecanfixthat.com/
