The fantastic vent fan in the bedroom has a problem.

I have a Montana 2014 3100RL 5th wheel. The fantastic vent fan in the bedroom has a problem. The motor that closes and opening the dome continues to run whether in automatic or manual or off mode. It runs in the direction to close the dome. Manually I can open and close the vent dome, but the motor continues to run even when in manual mode. Tomorrow, my son will get on the roof and see if there is something wrong with the dome switch. I’m too old to get on the roof. I tried calling fantastic vent service but they were closed for the day.

Any troubleshooting or other suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

I had a similar but not exactly the same issue. A new board was required to fix it.

I previously had a Fantastic Vent and thought it worked well. Not much to it - just open it or close it. I think the 'fantastic' part was it closed when it rained by itself. Seems like they made the new ones 'too smart' . LOL
My current rig is just manual open and close and not too much to go wrong.

We had a similar issue. The handle that you can pull down to open manually was out of place, sort of in between positions. When I pulled it down & the pushed back up into auto position, it worked fine. That 'lift motor' assemble was bad so replaced it. Got that on amazon for 66 bucks. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q015JB8...roduct_details

The pot-metal arm that raises it up and down broke on one of mine recently. It was easy to replace from the roof. Sometimes the lid sticks to the rubber gasket if it has been closed for a while. I treat the rubber with 303 Protectorate from time to time.

On mine, one side of the aluminum holder for the gear is actually broken off so the gear just floats and the thing just continues to go, "click, click, click" and eventually turns off. I have a new part on order (if it will ever come in).
