Any problem down in Texas with the roads?

Watching the news and weather channel last night and today, it sounds like the highways and byways in Texas may be questionable for travel down there with either the Monte behind or even without the Monte in tow. Any comments from those of you in Texas and any problems? Man, if it will derail a Union Pacific grain train it will raise real havoc with a TV and Monte!

The area where the train derailed had received over 20" rain Fri and Sat. I think the track had washed out. I-45 south of Dallas was closed, reopened, closed, reopened, several times. Now the Houston area is getting pounded. We ONLY got a little over 6" north of Dallas. Fortunately it had been so dry so long the first 4" soaked in like a sponge.

System is finally moving east so roads should be good in a couple days.

Might be a good idea to bring your own Oars though!

Oars are not a bad idea. Forecast is for another 4-6" Fri-Sat. Will a Monte float?

We are in the DFW area just northwest in Azle and although it was heavy rain the roads were ok. Just southeast of Ft. Worth and over to Houston it was and is real bad.....

Sunny now so hopefully it will dry out.

Good luck on the drive...

We drove east on I-10 from Ft. Stockton yesterday. No issues anywhere. We stayed in Junction along the North Llano River--no issues. The hill country looked green and wonderful--good for the deer hunters.

We are in Palmview TX and no problems, but around Weslaco there is places under water, people can't get from there house to the road.

We just left Amarillo and Lubbock a couple of days ago. Sunny and dry. Headed to El Paso today. Rondo, just follow our path and you'll end up in Casa Grande, and you can stop and see John and Shirley Kohl on the way.
