They made me a offer I could not refuse.. We have a new Ford F-350 truck Diesel. It is loaded and way more options than I wanted. It has the power sliding moonroof so Helen is a happy camper. It may be in tonite,,,he started to tell me what the options were and I could not write it all down. It had what I wanted F -350. LB.CC. Dually, 4X4, shift on the fly. Think he said the off road and the camper package and much more....more later when we see it... I guess I am off FTE V-10 forum. The 05 was a good truck and served us well...

Congratulations....They are an awesome truck. I've been looking at them but being realistic, Betty would make me live in the Montana, I only have 22K on mine so I'll have to wait a bit. Look forward to seeing it at the rally.

Yes Grant, You win the pool Congratulations.. I never thought he would actually do it...

Like I always say, there are only two type of Tow Vehicle owners...

Happy Diesel owners and Gassers who want to become Diesel owners... I don't think I have ever Run into a Diesel owner wishing they had a Gasser....

Now I am going to have many questions about the care and feeding of a diesel truck. Although I drive more diesel miles per year than gas The school mechanic does all the maint..all I do is drive it and fuel it. Although we purchased the truck we have not seen it. I did look up all the options that I could remember the salesman telling me about and it is about every option that you can put on a lariet..This should be interesting.. Grant.. A ride in the truck is the prize..maybe you will buy one and I can claim a finders fee. By the way I did get the 3K rebate and the 1K owners loyalty rebate and of course the X plan. That brought the price down and they gave me top bucks for the 05 V-10.

Since I paid the money today the legal date of ownership would be today..8/28..We may see the truck tomorrow but I doubt that we will have it in the driveway till after the 5th of Sept..We are on a camping trip till Sept 3rd. Hitch gets removed from the 05 Sept 4th..need to take all the electronics out of the 05..can maybe turn the 05 in and get the 08 by Sept 6th then the hitch needs installed..so maybe the 6th or 7th..We leave for the Rally the 13th and we will have the 08 in front of the 3400 by then..

Congrats Rich and Helen!!! Welcome to the diesel owners club. We look forward to seeing pictures and hope you enjoy the heck out of that new machine. We use the sunroof with the back window open a little bit quite often as it creates a little breeze without all the noise right next to your ears.

Did I miss it? Rich, you never said what gear! That's how this whole thing started I didn't think a 3.73 was an option for a DRW. I had a 3.73 in my 04 F250 and at 2000 rpm you where doing 67MPH. My 07 F350 DRW has the 4.10 and at 2000rpm the speedo shows 63MPH. I get better milage with the 07 and the 4.10. Congrats to both of you!!! BR

The 3:73 is the Standard gear for the dually as as the 4:10 non limited slip..no extra charge for either of them. The truck they found has the 4:10's..not my first choice but it will be OK.

You'll see a difference on hills and would have been even better with the 4:30.

I have the 4:30's in my V-10..did not feel I needed them in the diesel. Besides they are very hard to find on a dealer lot.Everyone tells me that the diesel has more power and torque than we will ever need. I want to see that 70MPH up 12% grades that we hear about and the 20MPG towing 15K..

If you get that rich please tell me what you're doing. I'm getting around 12 and it does not seem to be getting any better as I go along. Course that may change but 20mpg?? As for the rear end I just wanted every towing advantage I could get. I'm sure your 4:10 will do the job for you.

Well, well, well, Rich. We gotcha at last. You will like the pull of the new 6.4 L. I knew you were on the verge. I could feel the heat of "the fever" all the way to North Carolina. I wondered why it cooled off the last couple of days in Ashville. Thought it was the weather, but it was the cooling of Rich's Ford passion. Congratulations on the new Ford.
