OH NO...did something stupid

While getting ready to leave, hitched up rig to truck and accidently forgot to put up the front landing gears...We were only pulling out the wheel chaulks so we didn't go very far. But we are noticing that the gears are binding a little now and making a clicking sound. Any suggestions...should we lube and see if that helps or do you think we should have someone look at them. Thanks folks Teresa

I know what I would do, but I can't in all conscientiousness recommend it to anyone else. It involves doing the reverse of what you did to try and straighten them out.

Tom, that is to funny. Because, before I even read your post I was thinking the same thing. But I wasn't going to post it. (LOL)

The binding has to be corrected by Tom's suggestion or replacement. The CLICKING sounds is BAD NEWS. That means the teeth on the gears are jumping and chipping. Check out the slide show of bad gears.

Can't hurt to try Tom's idea. Do it gently and in small steps.

You might want to see if you can borrow a 4 wheel drive TV. It would give you the ability to use 4 wheel low range, would give much more control, probably just at an idle. I use 4 low all the time for backing into sites, plenty of power at an idle and nice and slow, no reving the engine the lurching backwards when the torque converter engages. Just my thoughts as to what I would do.
