Need suggestions for a goof
Hello Group. Need suggestions on how to fix a goof.
On our stove there are 2 removable covers made out of Corian?? that match the counter tops and sink covers.
Problem: Front burner was left on low and covers were in place. When found, front cover was hot, level, and no damage was noted. Burner was turned off and cover just left in place. A couple hours later got in rig and front cover was sagged down like a hot piece of plastic would do.
So, is there a way to maybe lay bent cover on a flat surface and reheat and let it "sag" back flat. I am thinking maybe put a clamp on light, reflector light on the back of the cover, get it warm/hot and let it "sag" back flat.
This is a owner induced (me not the wife) problem, and she so far has let it go. But just buying a new cover, if available is probably cheaper than what she is planning.

If it sagged one way it should say back. May or may not go back completely level. Place weights on it, heat it, and see if it works. Can't hurt.

It's no good now so try it. You can't hurt anything and if it comes out worse it wasn't any good anyway.

How about laying it in the direct sun with the sag up and see if that is enough heat to make it pliable again and if it will go back flat.

I would think a heat gun would supply sufficient heat. Gravity should do the rest if you get a large enough area hot.

If it were me I'd lay in on a metal service(like a welding table), on a flat concrete/fireplace or stove ceramic plate with the bow up and heat it with a blowtorch or something similar. Don't do it directly on the surface but slowly above it to heat it slowly. As it heats the bow should start to decrease and hopefully go back to flat again. It more than likely will never be the same as original but it will work until you can get a new one. OR you can purchase a metal cover that Camping World normally carry to replace the covers that came with the unit. The older units used to come this way or they would come with a metal cover that hinged in the middle and the back and you raised it to form a backsplash at the back of the stove. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do and how it turns out if you decide to reheat it.

Our 2010 Montana had the folding metal cover, which we removed and used the wooden cover we had from our previous two TTs. It had rubber pads that fit into the burner grates to keep it in place. Draw back with it would be a burner on would tend to catch it on fire being wood!
