Virginia Region Rally

I have started a thread on the Virginia Region Rally. Would like to meet other Virgina MOC's and anyone else who would like to come. Check it out and give us some imput. Date and place is being discussed. This would be in the Spring or Fall of 2008. Unless someone wants to take the reins, Samuel and I will be the wagonmasters. Looking for those interested in coming and helping out.

I am from VA and would be interested but I am new to camping so don't know what it's all about. I was just reading about a Va Samboree scheduled for October in Harrisonburg, VA.

We get together at a campground for 3-4 days and really just hang out
with some structed things to do. Those of us on the forum all have Montanas,(well, most of us) and love camping. At the NE Rally in PA we started Thurs. PM with a Meet and Greet get together with finger foods. Friday AM we had a continal breakfast put on by a RV Sales in the area. They had brought 5 Montana models to the campround for us to look at and ask questions. Friday night they gave us a pizza party.

Sat. we had a pot luck with a gift exchange that night. Sunday AM
we had a potluck breakfast. Some people left on Sunday, others stayed until Mon. There was much in the area to see.

The one I'm planning is a little smaller scale. Maybe a Friday night,
Sat and leave Sunday after breakfast. We call it the Virginia Region
Rally but anyone can come. Many MOC's are full timers and just plan to be in the area of the different rallys. It may grow into 4 days if
that's what people want. Right now I'm trying to generate interest.

There are other campgrounds in the general area:
Walnut Hills in Staunton is good
American heritage in Williamsburg is also good
A third is a private campgrounds in Oak Grove called Harbor View, part of the outdoor World membership canpgrounds that takes campers off the highway. Very reasonable. Were members and could probably get membership rates in Sept or October. Early dates in the month would be better for us, either months.

Thanks Ken,
I'll check them out on the internet and add them to the list. The fact that you've been there is great. I'm leaning towards the 1st weekend after Labor Day 2008.

I noticed last night that the National Fall Rally is in Goshen around Sept. 16th thru 23rd. I would expect that some from here would probley not go out there. We leave for Fl the 1st of Oct so
I would prefer the 1st weekend in Sept after Labor Day.

I'll add your name to the list as being interested. I'd like to shoot
for at least 15 units. Please post additional info on the Virginia Region Rally thread. I posted over here to let people know something
was in the works.

If the date is set (and the travel is reasonable) we would definitely be available and would mark it in big red letters on the calendar. I definitely want to put some faces to some of the great people on this forum.
