THE SOFA

We can talk about "the Sofa" We were at our Dealer today having the Splendide W/D installed and we asked him if he had seen the new Sofa . He asked how in the world we knew about that as he only found out about it recently.He can begin ordering it next week.Those of us on the factory tour at the fall Rally got a look at the New Sofa but were sworn to secrecy..You are going to love it.It is totally different than what we have now. We have our order in and will have it installed when we return from our Wintering in the spring. Don't know what it cost as the dealer did not yet have the invioce for the one he had ordered,,.but don't care...We want one... They were also equally impressed that we knew about the "Big Sky"

Can you fill in those of us who were not at the rally? Have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. If this sofa is such an incredible improvement, can you tell us about it now that you are no longer sworn to secrecy? We are waiting on pins and needles......the world wants to know. And oh yeah--how much is Keystone going to charge for this new sofa? Will it be standard equipment on new orders or will you have to purchase it as an option? Can you guess that you really got our attention here??? Thanks!

Is it the whole Sofa that has to be replaced, or just the bed part (mattress)?

Thanks for the link Carol..looks as if we missed this discussion while on a road trip to visit family. Appreciate being caught up. Now to find out the additional particulars............If it is actually comfortable, I guess we'll all be clamoring for it.

Carol's link sort of shows it and the sofa bed in question IS the one we previewed at the Fall rally. Most all of us wanted to oder one right there. It has a large drawer under the bed for storage and we thought it was very comfortable.I am sure more photo's will follow as many pictures were taken..I will bet I took one???? They should be standard equipment in the Montana very soon.

It is a totally new couch/bed/thingy! Built entirely different from what you had in your 2003.

The springs, foundation, whatever you want to call that part, actually fold up and go in back (ok, this is gonna get confusing, cause it goes in back of the back of the couch)

Foundation stuff in the back of the back allows room for the drawer Rich is describing.

I believe that was the only photo ole Carol had of it.

Let me tell you, if I still had the sofabedfromhe** I would be ordering this couch! Since I have replaced our sofabedfromhe** with a futon, I will not.

Carol's disclaimer. The couch/bed we saw at the Rally WAS a prototype!!!!!! They could have made changes!!!!!!

Does the bed set level when it's open, or is it like the others? I had to put 2 X 4 blocks under the legs of the bed last weekend to bring it up to the height of the couch.

I thought it was level Lonnie. I laid on it, I did not notice any 2 to 4 inch difference like you are referring to.

I like the recling love seat we have, does the new unit have leg-feet rests?

What we saw was a prototype and I think we all liked what we saw.There are no answers yet to the questions asked. They will be avalible to order next week and I would suspect OEM shortly there after.We liked it well enough to order one now sight unseen other than the prototype. There were many suggestions offered at the factory..we would have no idea what might show up in the final product.

As Carol explained, the framework for the bed is in the back, not underneath so there is room for a huge drawer. When the bed folds out the back comes forward and then down, that way the bed goes all the way to the wall and won't stick out so far into your living space. This is all topped of with an air mattress. Very cool. Everyone wanted one.

Ozz, there are no leg rests. The drawer offers great storage for extra pillows and blankets or whatever.

Brad, I think you better hurry and order one as I am sure it is not standard equipment.

Just sent the Dealer an inquiry. I'm sure she wonders where in the heck I hear about all this stuff. They usually hear a few weeks after I read it on MOC.

Had a dealer today tell me that the new hide a bed option will have an MSRP price of $275, compared to the $110 price of the old hide a bed option. I expect the old hide a bed to disappear shortly, if it hasn't already.

The sofa is definitely worth that small difference in price. It's one of the best improvements in RVing that I've seen in a long time. I would definitely order one.
