2015 3611RL back up camera issues.
Hey, I'm on my third back up camera. The camper place is of little use. My question is does anyone know how the time and I can only guess it is getting burned up? If I could find the circuit I can put a switch on it or take out the fuse. Any ideas? Furrion rear view camera system factory installed...

There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how these cameras are wired in. Some are tied in to the backup lights, some the running lights, on occasion wired direct. The cameras are not rated for continuous use(unless they have changed models)and that's why some fail. Is your camera on all the time?

Stop replacing the unit with the model of camera you have. There is a post that explains what model will work if you search for backup camera failing. John

Our 56-CHNV cam from RV cams has been on all the time when towing for the last 9 years and many thousands of miles without a failure.

Mine is on all the time and it is the observation model that is rated to be on all the time according the Furrion. Furrion customer care has been awesome. They are sending me a new wiring kit and I will wire it to the running lights. Don't know why Keystone decided wiring it to constant power was good. I am told they have since stopped that. Several others according to them have had similar problems. I am not replacing the cameras at all, Furrion has sent replacements under warranty....

I tried the locate the source of power for the camera but was unable, not sure how they wired the thing. Pulled all the fuses one at a time and she was still on. Finally gave up...

3 warrantied cameras from Furrion while all along telling you it's made for continuous use ... now they want you to wire it to the running lights. Sounds like a Hail Mary play in the final seconds to me.

Not sure of which Furrion model #s are for each application, observation compared to back up only but perhaps you could post your current Furrion camera model # and those with experience could take it from there.

And I wanted to rewire it, they didn't suggest that. I don't agree that it should be wired on all the time no matter what the rating is. They were just trying to keep me happy which I appreciate.

I am having the same issue, the camera that came with my 3791RD was a Furrion reversing camera system model FRC12TA-BL. It is wired to be on anytime there is 12 volt present and I have had 2 cameras quit working (never even got to see how they worked to back up)!!
My dealer says Keystone has assured them these are wired to the running lights (which is not correct).
The camera is listed as a backup camera. The option I think should work (the way it is currently wired)is the observation / backup camera.

Please advise if you have had any experience with this setup.
Merry Christmas to all!!

Dealer couldn't find anyone at Keystone or Furrion who had a clue how it was wired.

Like others have said. replace it with a Furrion observation camera. They use the same mount, so you can just unscrew the existing camera and plug in the new one, plus the observation camera is good for 100ft. That is what I am going to do when my second one burns out. Also if you turn off the battery cutoff switch in the convenience area, that should cut power to the camera. hopefully that will help it last longer until you can get it replaced or if you just want to keep the one you have and be able to turn it off.

Update... Furrion is sending me another camera, Wiring harness, and mount. To wire into the running lights. Guess I'll do that when I get some free time!
