Good idea! Probably safer to use a grease pen than stealing Beth's nail polish .
Once we get some time/miles on this rig we'll probably get on the IS queue at Morryde (assuming we don't decide to change up rigs or lifestyles...). Seems to us that a smoother ride for our house is worth the money.

I agree with the suspension upgrade , my nearest installation place is 350 miles from us.
If ours isn't a lemon, i'm sure that upgrade will get scheduled. Hoping on expecting issues to pop up will guarantee they won't, lol

I crawled under my 2019 3121RL last night and checked my suspension and all the u-bolt nuts and found the right rear rear spring to be loose. I set the torgue wrench to 65 ft lbs as suggested and was really surprised how loose they were. I also found 3 lug nuts to be loose and torgued all to 130 ft lbs. I am very thankful to have read this thread and will be doing this as a regular safety check.

As I mentioned in tmy 23April post, rechecked the torque on the replacement 9/16" U-bolts. At 75lb ft they were all fine, but then that was at least the third recheck and something done at every wheel bearing sevice or yearly, whichever comes first.
Just a note here and kinda related - two years though only about 2500 miles, those bearings looked just like the day they emerged from the Timken box in 2016 even with the Mystic grease separation that had concerned me. They now have been relubed using Valvoline full synthetic grease which seems to have a more tacky consistency and meets the Dexter spec.

Wisconsin. I am happy you got some good out of this. I finally take my 3120 in next tuesday to be inspected. What I dont want to hear is it will take weeks to get corrected. I can do the repair myself just give me the parts. What I cannot do is an alignment. That will have to be done. Happy camping

I am getting ready to leave in the morning for a 6 week trip 2/3 of the way across the US with my new Montana. In doing the final checks I crawled underneath to inspect my springs and lubricate as necessary. I already have 3,000 miles on the unit. Underneath I noticed a band around 3 of the 5 leaves of the springs on one side of the spring. The bands on the front axle on each side have popped open and are just there, not performing any function.
1. are they necessary?
2. if necessary, how can I repair as the bands don't seem to want to go back together?
Thanks in advance,

Found universal leaf spring clamp at Autozone. Much more substantial than the little metal clip from the factory. Picture is the replacement installed.
Thanks again.

In my experience the suspension is the weakest link on the Montana. We changed to the Mor Ryde IS on both our 06 3400 and the present 13 3402. The OEM suspension failed on the 06 3400 while on a road trip it was not a pleasant experience. We are high end users and put plenty of road miles on both Montana's.

Good news. My camper has been repaired. Pleasantly surprised here. Once Keystone agreed it was warranty work they sent the part and it was repaired within a week and a half. Inspected all the leaf springs torqued all the other leaf spring nuts and all wheel lugs. They were not going to do the other leaf springs or the wheel lugs until Keystone would cover the cost. Happily they approved it. Heading out in July for our next trip 4 nights close to home and 4 more in August in Michigan.

Unless you have upgraded the suspension to include hubs with anything other than 1/2" lugs, the maximum lug nut torque is 120 ft lbs for the 1/2" size.

120 ft lbs is what the service center torqued my lugs to.
