looking for ideas to insulate or cover the bathroom skylight. I like the sun but it sure does not help to cool at all. What if anything do you do about it?

This is a common concern. The solutions run the gamut from painting the cover, using window film or decals, to attaching shades. Do a Search on SKYLIGHT and you will find a number of Threads on this topic.

Use heat reflecting tint. Easy to put on easy to change and it blocks heat.

On my previous Montana I had a roller shade. It just covered the opening. You just put in a couple of screws to hold it and another one to hook the clip holding it open. I forget where (online) that I got it - I think it was from Denver maybe.
This gives the best of both worlds - open when you want light and darker when you want to keep out the heat.

Don't know why they insist on putting skylights in 5th wheels. See it in travel trailers for additional head room but not needed for 5th wheels. Skylight is about 2-3 square feet of non-insulated ceiling. Good place for a leak and they look bad after 4 or 5 years sitting in the sun.
Most people like them but if I was ordering and could get skylight delete I would.

I put a couple of layers of small diameter bubble wrap between the inner and outer bathroom skylight. It was a easy project and it made a world of difference in the bathroom heat. It also had very little impact on the light allowed in the bathroom.

We use a window tint product that looks like stained glass and then inserted enough silver buble wrap between the two sections of the skylight to cut the amount of sun in half.

We used a shade film purchased from an auto supply for cars. Just cut to fit and placed over the dome. The film sticks but you can peel it off by picking up a corner and taking it off. It's basically a dark/light grey mesh. Does a good job of cutting not only the bright light but the heat; not all of it but enough - the bathroom stays very cool anyway.

Now the skylight in the kitchen over the island? All I can say is why? Why is it there, 10' in the air? Guess I'll just keep the shade pulled over it (I'm not tall enough to reach it anyway ) and deal with it when it deteriorates I guess.

I use the pillows (2) that are made for the smaller 12x12 vents. I bought three of these insulated pillows for my three fans when not using the fans. They are great insulated pillows that help. Well, I use two of them in the ceiling over the shower now. They fit great and were not too expensive to get a couple more. yes I take them out when using the shower but they do help. Makes it a little darker too but I'm happy with that.

I simply made a curtain with rod pockets at each end. Bought a couple of appropriately sized tension rods and voila. .

There is a product made for covering the window on the entry door that fits perfect. Just use 2 sided tape or velcro pieces to attach it. It looks like silver insulation stuff used by amazon etc.

I cut some black foam board to match the profile of the skylight frame. Then replaced the screws with some standoffs that rotate. I can put in or remove easily and it totally blocks the light

Ahdmeyer, don't know whether your 3931FB has the front windshield in the bathroom as does my 2017 3921FB, but if so that windshield produces so much heat that I doubt anything you could do to the skylight would make a difference. The windshield heat is what I would like a solution for.

FUQUA I have a 3900 FB. (2013) b but no front windshield. I would look at some of the solutions posted here to help you. How about using velcro and attach a windshield cover available for most car and light truck windshields? You could leave it covering the windshield until you are parked in the shade and want to see out. There was also a mention of film that can be applied. Hope you find a solution

I got a white 1/4” fiber board from Hobby Lobby, small sheet of bubble insulation - cut insulation the size of internal opening and fiber board to the size of external skylight opening, then glued together. Used 4 small, waterproof command hooks on the plastic interior. The fiber board/ insulation slides into the command hooks when not
using shower and just slide it out when needed. Easy - going on two years with it.

The problem with putting boards and other things in between the layers of the skylight is that it still lets heat into the ceiling of the unit. For years I've painted the outside(on top) lens with Gloss White Krylon spray paint after cleaning it with Dawn, letting dry and wiping with alcohol. Spraying a few light coats in criss crossing pattern. The paint lets all the light in, but does not let in any heat. The light and dark areas you see in the pic will lessen and look more uniform when it dries. I've done this on my last 5 campers and it works well blocking the heat here in the southeast.
