winterizing

winterized my 2019 hc 374 on the weekend. I tried the winterizing valve to draw in the antifreeze but wont do it. Seems not enough suction to draw it up. I tried everything. I just happened to have a 120v pump and had to connect it up to pump it into the winterizing connection and also have the pump on in the trailer. Any one else have this problem

Some folks have had to use a second washer on the connection to get it tight enough, others have had to raise the antifreeze so it doesn't have to draw as far and some have done both.

I actually had to use a thinner hose washer. I could not tighten the cheap hose connection on the trailer enough to seal. Not enough threads to allow tightening enough to seal. Not having a thin washer on hand, I sanded the existing one down to about half thickness and it sealed enough for the pump to draw the antifreeze. I also set my antifreeze up at near the level of the connection to reduce the lift pressure necessary.

I always have to hold the antifreeze higher than the intake- worked best for me to pour antifreeze into a funnel, then the pump will take it. Never could get the pump t take up.

You might also try a little plumber’s silicon grease on the washer for a better seal. The least little air leak will prevent the pump from pulling the antifreeze.

Check connection behind convenience center. Might be sucking air.
