On he install of these, if it is also a MaxxAir fan, they have easy clips to attach them so no drilling into the roof or anything. It is nice that you don't have to worry about the rain sensor closing them vents at the wrong time. Also we keep the vents open and even run the fans while driving to keep the temp down some in the rig. Can't do that with your screen door

Well ok, now someone has given me a potential reason to add the covers. I hadn't thought about leaving vents open going down the road during the summer......That changes things a bit particularly if they do not require any holes in the roof to add them.....

I may be a hard case meat head but I will listen to a counter debate point if it makes sense.....

NONE that I have installed required drilling into the roof. They have metal brackets the you can either use self tap screws or drill small pilot holes in the metal framework of the vent/lid then use those brackets to attach the covers.

In the past, if you had MaxxAir Fans they were pre-drilled, just had to remove the little rubber plugs and install the cover mounting hardware and you were done.

Maxxair vent and fans have predrilled holes. Pop out some plastic plugs, use the supplied screws and they are on. It took me longer to round up tools and a good ladder then it took to install the two covers (no I do not use the flimsy Keystone supplied ladder except in a dire emergency)

Many of us no longer have a screen door but have converted them to a "storm" door.

When installing the max Air vent covers. Does the roof fabric have to be cut or do they install on top of the fabric?

On my other campers (all TT’s) I had to install metal brackets under the lid of the vents to mount the covers, NO mounting into roof or anything else. My new camper has the same covers as the one 2 posts above this. Looking at new covers this week as I pick up my new 5er this Saturday.

MAXXair vent covers are totally installed on the existing vent fram, not through the roof. If you have existing MAXXair vents or fans, you pop out 4 plugs /side use the supplied screws ---- like I said above

Can someone let me know which max air cover to use with the
max x fan with rain senser. I was told one of them would not let the fan lid open all the way.

This is the current version and is supposed to allow the vent lid to open 100%. It will but that vent lid will still hit the new cover. So far in one season, no problem with two of them yet but those MAXXair fans do have a tender operating gear, a known problem, one of which I had to replace before the new cover:

I initially ordered three MAXXair covers for my two vents and one fan. The covers fit the vents fine however did not fit the fan. I returned it and ordered the correct cover for the fan however during the installation I noticed the fan when opened all the way would hit the new cover I was installing. I contacted MAXXair and the technician told me not to be concerned as the fan motor when opening the fan cover will stop when it touches the new fan outer cover. I finished the installation and the fan motor did exactly what the technician said. Now I leave both vents and fan open for ventilation. It took longer to get the tools and put them away than the actual install.

I installed the Maxx Air II cover this morning on our 2018 3120 RL bath fan. The fan lid does touch the cover when open all the way. It seems to work just fine otherwise.
