New Front Cap Design?

johnnyg sent me the picture of the new front living floor plan which I posted recently. In addition he sent me a picture of a new front cap design, which he is not sure is specific to the 3711FL, or if it is for all. Here is his picture and accompanying message.

"Bill
I forgot I had this photo of the new standard front cap design. I'm not sure if this is for every model made or just the 3711 but Chris Stender said that the front and rear cap both will be partial paint. Think it's a great idea. On my current unit those two areas are the only place I have trouble keeping chalk from forming. The side walls and slides look like the day I bought it.
Something else I just noticed is the absence of an awning unless it's tucked up behind all those slides!

Johnnyg"

I am really confused about the awning as I stated in previous post. Surely it is not simply left off?

Hope they do better job than with the cougers. Similar paint scheme, and owners having problems with paint fading and discoloration on the brown caps.

All Montana front caps are the same. The coach in your picture is a Mountaineer.

Not all dealers have the capability for body work and outsource as required. Sometimes what keystone will pay re warranty work is not acceptable to body shops experienced with fiberglass repairs. And typical body shops don't necessarily understand fixes if there are structural problems. So, important to go to a dealer with the right facilities to handle.

That's the exact same front cap as my '10, including the lame 'hitch mirror' that's useless. Only difference is paint and personally I'd not want anything dark unless you live way north of me.

Larry,
I believe this is a picture of a prototype that is not on any dealer's lot yet, from what the previous thread stated. Six slide front living room model that apparently has a new cap.

Looks like the same design and colors as our2015 Mountaineer. I noticed, when we picked up our unit from the dealer, that some of the Mountaineers in the lot had Montana written on the front cap and some had Mountaineer. Perhaps the ones with Mountaineer were 2014's. We do like the look.

Trust me , it is a Mountaineer. Same floorplan as 3750.

Hey Gang, this is the very same picture that local news channels have been flashing all over television around Michiana the last 24 or 36 hours! This dealer show is just 4 miles from me to the north. It has become a really big deal!! It is giving Elkhart and Mishawaka a real kick in the local economy. If, you are lucky enough to drive by this thing, it is a sea of RVs of all types and kinds!

Myself, I like the look and think it would look great behind the Denali! Just my 2 cents worth.

The awning install was installed on our model after it was painted. It goes to Maple City Collision company (right on the Keystone Montana grounds area) without the awning. I was told that after paint it goes back to Keystone for awning and other closeout work before shipping.

Dennis,
How can they put an awning on it when there apparently is a slide-out between the two doors. On our 3750 and the 3850, that is where the awning goes? Seems like it would be a very small area beneath the awning to me? Just thinking out loud.

Oops! you are right! Strange floor plan that I've never seen. Must be a Prototype. Never seen a six slider. Maybe there will be one at the rally. The nose does have the same appearance as the Mountaineer and they have Montana on the nose. For about two months, they have been very silent on coming changes.

Good point Bingo. I was more focused in my response on what happened to my rig during build. Maybe you get a beach umbrella with the 3711!

I have a "14" and like the look of it new color and such but this front cap looks cool. Now I'm giving thought to heading to my local body shop for a upgrade.
