We're in Prince George with Cable and Wireless!
Yeah, we're back in civilization. While we have enjoyed the rugged beauty of the North Country, it is nice to be back to the luxuries that we take for granted until they're not there. We're parked at Sintich RV, south of the city on Hwy 97, a park that we would recommend. The Wireless connection is $7.95 Canadian for 3 days. Looking forward to keeping up with the forum for the next few days.
A recommendation: consider staying in Alaska long enough to travel back to the lower 48 in September as the fall colors are beautiful.

Thank you, Helen, I've missed being on the forum, too. If you have any questions about traveling to Alaska, now is a good time to ask as our connection is good.

We stayed at that same park as we traveled this past July. Nice park. Nice to see that they fixed the wi-fi. They had just installed it the day we stayed there.

It's a good connection, too, Northstar, nice and fast.
We were going to continue east on Hwy 16 toward Jasper and connect with Hwy 5 to drive south. Someone told us it would be more scenic, but now they're talking about snow, 20 centimeters, mostly in the elevations. Might have to continue south on Hwy 97. We got out of Alaska only to meet up with snow in BC????

Good to hear from you and love the new picture in your signature! I bet you are collecting hundreds of such digital images—if not more!

You're right, Wordsmith, it's in the thousands, probably over 3000. Thankfully we have a digital camera or it would be a lot less. I even got some pretty good pictures from our moving truck.

Almost everyone from the western part of the states or those doing to the Banff/Jasper area on their way to Alaska will come through Prince George. If you're looking for a nice restaurant, try Moxie's. In Prince George is is located east of Hwy 97, a couple miles north of Hwy 16. It has great food, nice atmosphere, and good prices, similar to O'Charleys, Chili's, or a place like those. Maybe those are all southern restaurants.

Judy,
I envy your journey's! As far as Alaska questions go, I'm wondering if the mosquitoes are as big and bad as I've heard they are in Alaska?
Love your picture!

Fla native, if you like that picture you might want to check out our blog http://bamatravelers.blogspot.com
The bugs are worse in the spring that they are in July and August, apparently. They certainly did not live up to their reputation, thank the Lord. We went armed with fly paper, mosquito repellent and spray and hardly used anything. The bugs are worse in Alabama than Alaska. And the weather didn't live up to its bad reputation either. We've been blessed on this trip.
