Campground Advice Pls

We are checking out spots in Yuma, Arizona and Hemet California -- want to stay there this winter. Would appreciate any feedback -- places we are considering are Araby Acres in Yuma, Country Roads, Yuma and Golden Village Palms in Hemet. If anyone has any other s uggestions we would appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks. Les & Julie

We've been to Golden Village Palms, last November. It's a huge park with many permanent residents. It has nice facilities. The roads and sites are good, it's just not a real "pretty" park. Not many trees, but does have waist-high hedges between most of the sites. Hope that helps. Our favorite park in the winter is Emerald Desert in Palm Desert. It's a little pricier than Golden Palms, but it's absolutely gorgeous. Has it's own golf course, several pools, rec halls, etc.

Les and Julie,
We have a stick house in Hemet and have lived in this little town (gone big) for the last 25 years. Take Bill and Shari's advice and go out to one of the desert RV parks. Palm Desert and that area is really into RVing. I worked out there for 5 years. Most of the parks in Hemet are old and the spots were designed prior to the big units we now have. Thirty years ago they tried to make Hemet a retirement city but there were too many children and families already there for that idea to flourish. Some of the RV parks were built during that time, 30 years ago. Hope this helps you. Also in case it makes a difference to you, every few years in Hemet we have a really heavy freeze. Enough you kill all sensitive plants.
