roto choks

Can anyone tell me the best place to buy Roto Choks? Are they only available from the maker? Also, I was lurking on the RV.Net sight earlier and there was a posting from a guy who had just gotten his cover for his Pull Rite hitch. Looked real sharp. I am going to contact Pull Rite tomorrow on a price and availabilty. I'll post what I find out.

Sorry about the double posting. Sometimes computers drive me crazy. Like today for example.

Got ours from the manufacturer, the gal that answers the phone is VERY knowledgeable! She will talk as long as you need to ask questions and will answer all of them Al tells me her name is Pearl, if she does not get phone, she'll call you back!

I talked to the Pull Rite people this morning and I was told that the cover for the 16K Super Slide was 149.95 with 16.00 for shipping. It's a good looking cover but I have to admit the price is a little bit higher than I thought it would be.

Looked at that rotochok site, then clicked on the link for installation instructions. Wow, those wheels are close together! I've never seen a trailer with wheels that close but suppose they're out there. My BAL wheel chocks would not work with wheels that close together.

The rotochock looks good. Another product that works good is the "Deluxe tire locking chock" from camping world http://www.campingworld.com/browse/s...4&skunum=11109
There is a cam operated chock that is simular but does not have very good consumer feedback.
I am useing the deluxe chocks and highly recomend them. I keep them in place while backing onto the hitch so there is no pushing against the jacks and stabilizers. Takes most movement out of the 5er while is use. The one advantage of the roto chock is that it is lockable.

I had a similar type of chock on my old TT. They were also lockable. However, I found out that all I had to do was to jack up one side of the TT and the wheels would separate and loosen up the chocks enough to take them out (even still latched and locked).

YMMV

So much for that...
So I guess I will stick with what I have. After all I am happy with them. And easy to use.

When it comes to chocks, all I look for is stability not security. As I had mentioned before I was really surprised at how easy it was to take a "locked" chock off my old TT. Found that out by accident. Jacked up the TT for some kind of maintenance and discovered that by doing so, the chock was lose...

Given all that, some kind of in-between-the-wheels chock works really well for STABILITY and all I ask is to be able to put on & take off easy & quick. If you really want security, you should try to find a consumer version of the Denver boot.

Going along with trukdoc on this one. The Deluxe tire locking chock from CW is also cheaper than the RotoChok and will fit a space between the tires of 2 1/2 to 10 inches without having to buy anything extra.

We are using the "Deluxe tire locking chocks" we purchased at Camping World. They are durable and well constructed. We are well satisfied with them as they have takened the "rock" out of the 5er when walking inside it from the rear to the bedroom. As many of you know, this "rock" is most noticeable when one is sitting on the sofa watching the tv and someone else walks to the kitchen or bedroom. We wouldn't hesitate for a minute to recommend them now, especially seeing that Camping World has them on sale at this time.

We also use the BAL deluxe chocks and have been very happy with them. We use two, one on each side.
