Flask ettiquete

We were at the Ft Worth Stockyards a couple weekends ago and seen Bill Engvall at Billy Bob's. I bought a hip flask mostly for our fishing trips sitting around the campfire at night. Not being a beer drinker I like my Wiskey. Never having one before I was wondering what etiquette there might be, especially being in a place like the Stockyards. Keep in mind I have enough class not to bring it into a nice restaurant, But what about bar hopping?

Rick and Wanda-- From my experience as an ex-bartender, if you bring a flask into my establishment and order just the set-up, you may be asked to leave. Flasks are fine for certain occasions, like fishing, a football game or sitting around the campfire on a cool night and needing something extra to warm you up, but not in a establishment that sells liquor. It's like going into a restaurant and bringing in your own steak and asking the chef/cook to fix it for you1 NOT A GOOD IDEA!! This is MHO only and speaking as an ex-bartender.

It is a violation of liquor laws in many states to bring your own booze into a bar.

If you are attending an appropriate flask function, be sure and offer your partner a drink first and anyone near you. Just kidding!
