3295RK microwave and hot water heater
At the RV Park we are staying at one of our neighbors brought home a new 3295RK this past weekend. On the cabinet next to the microwave there is a switch. He said that he was told by the dealer that the microwave and hot water heater are on the same circuit in the 3295RK and that if he was using the hot water heater on electric he couldn’t use the microwave at the same time. This switch is supposed to be moved up to use the microwave and down to use the hot water heater. Can this be right?
Why have 50 amp service and then put these two heavy electricity users on the same circuit? Why put the water heater in the kitchen slide?

Grant,
I remember a switch like that in our 1993 Wilderness with a 30A hookup. It is truly unusual to think they still need to do that with a 50A+50A. I've had 2 ACs + HW + Micro + Washer + Dryer going with no problem.
Maybe it's a carryover in design from the 2003 30A days and they just haven't changed it yet.

Seems like i read somewhere that the fireplace and microwave were on the same circuit. Should be able to look at the fuse panel and tell if is true.

Grant,
I have a 2005 3670 Big Sky with the microwave and fireplace in the same slide. There is a switch next to the microwave that has to be switched so you can only use one at a time.I presumed that they couldn't or wouldn't run another line to the slide so both could run. Isn't that a beauty!

My '05 3295RK has the same switch and it is for the fireplace and the microwave--one position turns off the microwave & turns on the fireplace---the other position revereses the process--you can't have but one at a time on--

Our 2006 3295 has the switch, and it controls the circuit for the microwave and the fireplace.

We didn't have it in our 2003 3295RK. Like others said, there sometimes is a switch for fireplace/microwave.
One way to check for sure is to check the breaker panel. Ours has one breaker for microwave and another for water heater. That's a surefire way to tell they're not on the same circuit.

We have a 3295RK. No fireplace, no switch. A fireplace in a trailer used on the Texas Gulf Coast is truly gilding the lily.
