A Big Howdy Ya'all from Arkansas!
Hello everyone, We are currently in Arkansas until June 07. We are fulltiming and loving it. We are new to rv'ing so don't be surprised if we ask a lot of questions on this forum. We are traveling in a 2005 Mountanieer 297 RKS. We started our new adventure in Nov.06. Feel free to check out our profile if you like. I thank everyone for such a warm welcome. See ya'all down the road sometime.

Welcome to the family. Anything you want to know about RVing and just about anything else is right here in the MOC. I noticed in the picture of your rig that you use the bike rack on the back. I am not familiar with the '05s but the 06 and 07s come with a factory slide-out rack. If this is the case on yours, how sturdy is it and how well does it do its job? The reason I ask is because another MOCer (slickwillie) lost part of his and when he visited a "dealer" in Texas he was less than impressed by the sturdiness of two units he looked at there.

Helloo ggranch, I purchased the bike rack at campingworld.com. I have towed my unit about 1,000 mi. so far and it has been real good. It is steel with a powder coat finish and it has self locking nuts on the whole thing. It is still just as tight as when I put it on. It has a 200lb. carrying capacity. I use a cable lock for the bikes to the hitch and cable lock for the hitch to the bumper just in case. It sells for $109.99. A little inexpensive way to cover the bikes is a B-B-Q grill cover at Lowes for $20 bucks. I know they want a lot more than that at camping world and the reviews there say you have to remove one of the bikes wheels to make it fit. My grill cover works great and do not have to remove the wheels. Just use bungee cords around it. It is a two bike carrier. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum and to full timing.
Nice choice of truck.
Nice choice of trailer.
You have chosen a path that not many do. I wish you luck and hope that you enjoy the journey.
As for staying cool in the summer, Duluth MN might be worth a look. I have no idea what the need for nursing is, but I assume it is like other places and is always in demand. We spent most of the summer in north eastern MN as it is about coolest area in the US and the shore of Lake Superior is great.

We have been to Lake Greesen several times trout fishing. It is near Murfreesboro, there is a campground on the lake and there is also Crater of Diamonds State Park campground that has diamond hunting.
