Kitchen Table Pop-up outlet/Wall Mount

Been a member for about a year but this is my first post. I have a 2019 Montana 3560 with a wall-mounted, free standing dinette. The USB ports on the pop-up outlet on the wall mount quit working. I have a replacement pop-up outlet but do not know how to access the interior of the wall mount to gain access to the pop-up outlet plug or the threaded nut under the mount surface. Has anyone removed one of these wall mounts? Do you have to take the entire table and mount off the wall or can one of the panels be removed to gain access to in interior of the mount?

I think this has been discussed within the last few months but I could not find the thread...and the thread I remember did not have blow-by-blow directions. I have never attempted this fix, but I took the time out of my extremely busy covid afternoon schedule to go outside and look at mine, and I took a pic.

If it were me - I would try to pry the 1/8" plywood end panel off to gain access to the pop-up outlet. It looks to be held on by staples. My panel has another outlet down closer to the floor. The outlet cover pops off real easy...not sure if you need to pop it off, but at least you can see a bit behind the panel.

I would definitely NOT try to remove the front 3/4" panel. It is made of the "highest quality press-board with paper veneer " available on the market today (NOT!), and it looks to be glued and pin-nailed very tight into the unit. I think that piece would get torn up real easy if you tried to mess with it.

When you put the end panel back - use small 3/4" finish screws to make it easily removed if you ever need to get in there again.

The side panel is easy to pull off. I only needed a screwdriver to pry it off. It’ll give the access you need.

Thanks for the investigation. That looks and sounds a lot simpler than trying to remove the entire table. My 120 V outlet is on the opposite side as you show in the photo but my pop-up location matches your photo. I may have to remove both side panels to get to the 120 v outlet that supplies power to the pop-up outlet.

I had the same issue, the wiring came loose so I did not need to replace the outlet.

Thanks for asking this and for the replies. The retaining nut on mine has worked loose, I can almost pull the whole popup fixture out.

I guess with the 2020 Legacy package, that side panel is installed with screws, not stapled. Lucky me.
Now, if I could just figure out how to access the end tables, I can't even see staples.

Yes, we looked at new one last year at the rally and I noticed that. Hopefully, I can pry mine off without destroying it. I'm kind of like a bull in the china shop at times.

Before replacing the tower, take the end panel off the cabinet at the plug like someone below suggested. Unplug the tower for 30 seconds and plug back in. Then test your usb ports. That was on one of the other threads to reset them. It didn't work on ours, so we had to replace the tower, but very easy access from the end panel once you remove it.

That is good info to know. I've disassembled one of these pop-up outlets and there is a small circuit board that controls the USB ports. Does not look like anything that can be tightened up so perhaps the reset will work.

I decided to close this thread with the results of my table mount access issue. CW removed the pop-up outlet (I think by lifting and turning) but didn't know how to get behind the mount so the outlet was still installed but loose. I told them I knew how to replace it so they gave me the outlet to install.

With the outlet removed, I used the rubber coated handle of a long pipe wrench to push the right side access panel loose at the top and them slowly pulled the panel off, carefully removing the stables and brads as I went. Once the panel was removed, there was a small opening in the table mount to gain access to the outlet and to under the pop-up outlet to tighten the nut. See my attached photos for the access and interior views.

It wasn't easy to reach the outlet located on the floor in the middle of the table mount, but it was workable. I was able to remove the old pop-up and install the new pop-up very easily. When replacing the right side access panel, I used small screws instead of stables or brads because I've already replaced both pop-up outlets in my 2019 Monty and suspect I'll need in there again in the future.

I would not have been able to replace this outlet without the help of members who have had the same issue. Thanks to all of your for the advice.

Sorry - I don't understand the question. Do you want to remove the table?

Also to follow up for this thread - I had to replace my pop-up outlet. Bought one from Rec Pro. Pulled the plywood panel off starting at the bottom...replaced the pop-up plug (my pop-up plugs into the same outlet that serves my exterior TV). I put the panel back using finish screws to make it easy to remove next time.

Jorugg - I looked at your profile and I see you have a 2021 331RL, then I found some interior pics on the internet (see below) and I see that your unit does not have that built-in cabinet.

I went to trekwood.com to see if they had the unit available, and I did not find it. They do have some tables and accessories associated with the table (second pic). You might need to see if a dealer would help you find that unit. Otherwise you might consider building one. I am no furniture carpenter but I could probably build that thing and paint it black, and hope it would pass final inspection from DW. Let me know if you need dimensions and I could sketch it up for you.
