Tire protection while stored

My Montana is stored under a RV cover and protected from the sun and bad weather but the tires are parked on the ground
Does anyone use the level system to raise the tires off the ground or do you place something under the tires?

When parked for more than two weeks, I pull up onto plywood boards I carry. Dont like raising the tires off the ground with my levelers unless I have a tire issue.

Mine is stored in a covered (not enclosed) storage facility with the tires sitting on crushed rock when not in use. Have never put anything under the tires in 12 years and have never seen sign of any adverse affect on them. One set of tires were 8 yrs old when replaced and still looked almost new.

I agree with Bill, no protection and no problem.

The only exception to that is if you are parked on concrete. If you notice, when you move a vehical that has been on concrete for a length of time you will see black marks almost like you peeled out. At an Escapee Bootcamp years ago a retired Goodyear engineer said that was an ingrediant in the concrete leaching out the anti aging stuff from the tire. Dirt, rocks and asphalt don't do it. He suggested putting a plastic placemat under each tire and so I carry 4 with me.

Agree with DQDick. The lime in the concrete will leach moisture from the tire and cause premature aging.

I park our Monte on concrete when stored and put a rubber garden stepping pad I purchase at any gardening store or big name hardware stores. I roll the tires up on the rubber pads and have had no problems with the oil (or whatever it might be)bleed out of the tires if parked on concrete itself. Prior to doing this I did have the spots described by DQDick on the floor of my storage building. I have used 2X8 boards prior to the rubber garden stepping pads.

Ya'll might not notice, but when you do go on your first RV trip after storing, the wheels will have flat spots if stored on concrete or asphalt, and it does tend to stress the RV and tires etc., so I put my RV on these curved ramps for the 5 months it is in storage up here in Tahoe. Here is the link to those ramps that are rated for 5,000 pounds each ramp. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think that depends on the concrete job. Our unit is stored in an totally enclosed pole building with a hard troweled smooth finish floor(like a home depot floor). It was also sealed as soon as you could walk on it. No tire marks ever when moved. I do take most of the weight off by using the level up.
