What is the Propane Gauge Telling Me?

I'm still new to 5th wheels, and trying to determine my propane tank level isn't made any easier with the gauge that came with my Montana. I have two 30# tanks. I know one tank is nearly empty and the other seems about half full. I took a picture of the gauge (below) but I don't understand what it's telling me. Right now it's showing two green triangles, the same way it looked when I had just filled both tanks and reinstalled them. Not sure I see the point of this gauge, maybe someone can set me straight here.

The green triangles are telling you the tank is not empty. The in indicator on top is point ing to the left side tank telling you that is the tank in use. When the tank is empty the indicators will turn red and the tank will auto switch to the full tank .You will have to manual change the indicator handle to the right tank and it will turn green telling you that is the tank in use...Then remove the left tank and have it refilled.

I must have a defective gauge. Both triangles stay green, then all of a sudden I am out of propane. The regulator on my other RV (SOB) showed red when the tank it was pulling from went empty, and automatically changed over to pull from the full tank. I get no such warning on the shame regulator shown in the picture. Ever heard of a regulator failure like this?
