New RV

After 8 years 8 months, 41589 miles, and camping in all 48 continental states, I no longer own my Montana 3791RD.
You don’t realize how much crap you stash in your RV until you need to completey empty it. I found stuff I never used the whole time I owned the RV.

I have not given up the RV life, just the huge RV. I now own a sob, albeit still a Keystone product. A 2024 Cougar 320RDS Midnight Edition, Phantom Gray. Even though this is a step down from the Montana, it has more bells and whistles and conveniences.

After a shakedown trip, I’ll be taking a 30 day trip taking in 7 different state fairs, OH, IN, IL, IA, MO, TN, KY. My new goal, since camping in all the lower 48, is to hit up every state fair.

Congratulations on the new rig! It sounds like your old one served you well, hoping your new one does the same.
If you want to break away from the cold, come on down here to FL, the fair is underway and will be for another 8 days. Enjoy that new rig!

Sorry to hear you switched from a Montana to a Cougar, but you're still in the Keystone family. I wish you great success with your new Cougar.

If you haven't done so already, you might also join the Keystone RV Forum, sponsored by RV Life, the same group that sponsors this forum. Click here. Between the Keystone RV forum and the Montana Owner's Club forum, there's always an answer to any question from someone!

Enjoy and happy camping!

Since you already saw all 48, why not make the 49th? I nice summer trip with lots to see. Plenty of experience here with advice from those that have gone on before to explore places unexplored (LOL).

then you haven't REALLY be to the real Alaska! LOL

Just looked up Shimea and Adak. That would be a tough pull with a Montana!! Are there military posts there - they are WAY WAY off the mainland.

Yes there are, or at least there were when I was there. Been to Adak during white out conditions. No one allowed outside.

Almost all my trips to Alaska were during the winter while I was stationed in Hawaii. Needless to saw, I was cold.

Don’t remember were in Alaska i was at the time, but I remember having a fish fry at 2am in the land of the midnight sun.

Congratulations on the new rig. We saw one of the midnight editions at the show in Indy. Pretty good looking rig. We had a 2006 Cougar before the Montana we have now. The Cougar served us well. No real problems in the six years we had it.
