Dirty Screens
Summer has arrived and it is time to scrub the inside of the windows and clean the screens.
Found that using a 'swiffer' does a great job of cleaning the screens!

Robbie, I've been using the swifter on the screens in the fans, works good but I really need to clean those fans - guess they need to be taken apart. I suggested that to David and he looked at me crossed eyed. Oh well, someday.......

Jo-Anna,
We just recently had to fix the fantastic vent. The swiffer would not have been a good choice for getting rid of the grime on the fan blades. We used soap, water, micro-fiber towel and elbow grease.
It is amazing how dirty those little fans can get. Then, we looked at the air conditioner vents, the fan in the bathroom....someone has to do it! Looking cross-eyed has been tried but doesn't work here, she doesn't notice.

Fantastic Vent now makes an easily removable screen for cleaning. We had a proble with our FF and they sent us a new housing with this new screen. Vacuum cleaner (central vac) work well on removing dirt/dust from screens that are really dirty. It will not clean them "like new", but it does improves the air flow back to normal.

I use "tack cloth" from the paint department from WalMart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. It's basicly "tacky" (sticky) cheesecloth.

Swiffers are great and we use them everywhere in the rig, but for the ceiling fan in the living room you need the vacuum and the swiffer or you take a dust bath. Both our Fantastic Fans have removable screens, but the bathroom is another situation and even vacuuming it doesnt get all the bugs and stuff, and I haven't figured out how to get it out without taking the whole fan apart... There's an idea... I wonder how duct tape or Gorilla tape would work removing hard to get dust and grime from those screens? Not sure. Maybe wouldn't work at all, but I will try just for fun next time.
