Best Sewer Hose(s)
I have worn out the Blue Line sewer hose that I bought with the trailer about 16 months ago. There are too many choices for replacement. Any advice as to what the best value is would be appreciated.

Get the heaviest (thickest ply) you can get. If it costs more, and it will, it's worth the extra $$$. The cheap, thin ones just don't have the life span unless you wrap a lot of duck tape around them.

You asked, so in my opinion, Sewer Solution works best all around. Those of us who have it know it is superior to the regular 3" sewer hose regardless of thickness. I have used mine for over 3 years now. It is cleaner, neater, and easier. It is less prone to have a spill than the "stinky slinky".

I don't have the sewer solution, but I agree with Stiles. However, if you are inclined to go with the stinky slinky, the Rhino hose is great. I was mucking around and stepped on mine. Very little damage and it came right back to shape easily. It is easy to store in the underneath built in sewer hose compartment. I have the 15 footer and an extra 5 footer stored in my 3400Rl sewer hose compartment, including the fittings.

Agree that Rhino is a good one...as noted get the thickest you can find. If you don't get a thick one, it'll be full of pin holes.

I also agree on the Rhino hose. It has a "toughness" you can feel when you pick it up. Quality stuff.

Looks like Rhino is the hose of choice if you stick with the standard dump hose. I've got one also.

After the blue hose developed lots of pin hole leaks ran across Rhino. After a year wouldn't be without it.

I echo what Stiles saids.
Go to RV.net and search for SewerSolution.
There's alot of comments and I haven't read one negative yet.

The only down side I have experienced with my Sewer Solution is the length of time it takes to drain the tanks. The upside is I can run more than 30 feet of hose at home to really flush and clean out the black tank.

I have no idea what kind of hose we use (I can't even believe I'm posting on this thread ). However, one time during our first year of full-timing, when we had left the hose laying directly on the asphalt, we happened to be watching as the tanks were draining and saw pinholes develop as the hose shimmied on the rough surface. As a result, we're careful to not drag the hose on the ground and use supports (we use a Slunky) or lay it directly on grass only, our sewer hoses (even the Walmart cheapies) last much, much longer.

That is what I mean by neater. With Sewer Solution you don't have to worry about pin holes or using a slunky or be afraid it might break or split. But I would use Rhino or better if it were available for a 3" hose if I were to use one.
Vicki is giving sound wisdom if you plan to use a stinky slinky.

I am seriously considering one of the macerating pumps, as the cleanout I have at my stick house is slightly uphill from the street. Anyone used one of these, e.g. the FloJet?

I have one only it isn't a FloJet. I purchased a macerator and made my own system. Can pump from the rig through a window into an upstairs bathroom.

I looked at the Rhino hoses. They're pretty nice. But I don't see a problem they'd resolve for me other than to more significantly lighten my pocketbook. It's an easy task to put a hose on a slunky and I have plenty of sewer hoses and storage space. The sewer solution is an attractive alternative, although I'm not sure I feel a need for it. I'm still thinking about it, though.

So...what do you do when there's only a dump station available which has one of those one ended hoses so you can't put yours on it nor connect it to your sewer solution? Won't that be solutionless?? Stinky Slinky may be the only answer...

I can't imagine what kind of connection you are describing. The dump end of the Sewer Solution fits into a standard port at a dump station. Any receptacle that receives a stinky slinky will accept a Sewer Solution. The nozzle that connects to the RV discharge pipe connects exactly where the 3" stinky slinky fits using the same type of connector. So I don't understand your question.
Sorry, I reread you question an have a better understanding of what you asked. You are talking about the water to feed the jet. I have come to several dump stations with the business end of the water hose cut off. I simply disconnect that hose piece and connect my own. Then I put the other "one-ended" hose back. However, as a backup I do carry a stinky slinky should circumstances require it. Let me ask, "How do you attach one of those one-ended hoses to your internal wash system?"

I have the blue line also. It has been suggested to me that these be changed every six months or so. Has anyone else heard of this? I will be replacing mine with the Rhino brand when the time comes......

I also carry a slinky just in case. However, when we come across flush hoses like that (usually in COE dump stations), I just hook up the outside shower hose to the flush system and use the internal pump/water for the Sewer Solution flush. Works like a charm! When done, run hot water thru the shower hose to clean out (just in case). Of course, you need to make sure there is enough fresh water in the tank before pulling up stakes, but it's easy to empty if you wind up with too much left.
