RV generator

Hello all. Being new to the club I have a question regarding my new 294 RL I got about 2 weeks ago. I ordered it with the generator prep and I can see the switch and hour meter on the inside. I can also see the metal compartment in the front door. Does this package contain a transfer switch or the wiring needed to attach the power to the generator?
Thanks in advance.

Mine came with wiring to plug into a generator. It is laying on the compartment floor.

It should come with a transfer switch.

Look in the ceiling of the front compartment for a metal electrical junction box with a large romex cable running into it. The transfer switch is at the other end buried behind the wall panel.

You will be responsible for everything from the Gen to the Transfer switch. The Gen compartment is sealed with NO wiring. Keystone stops at the switch.

I looked in the front, there is a plug I guess is the wires going to the control box in side. I don’t see an electrical box..

The Transfer switch should be attached to the ceiling in the basement Not the front compartment

Just to be on the safe side you might open that metal junction box and make sure that all the wires are attached good and that the wire nuts are tight. You really only need to do this if you are going to put a genset in your rig. They either had some wires that weren’t secured by the wire nuts or the wire nuts were not tight enough and when using my generator I would get a burnt plastic smell. About burned down my fifth wheel. The wires were toast and the only thing left of the wire nuts was the metal inserts. Better to be safe than sorry.
Happy roads to you.
