It has been interesting to monitor some of the Florida resorts/campgrounds. They were reacting to the virus from one extreme to the other.

The management where we are currently kept everything open and all activities going until about a week ago. They even let over 100 folks hold the "Monday" morning meeting crammed into the community center meeting room. The last week or so they slowly caught on and began stopping a couple activities but not all. Our pool is still open with special suggestions not to get too close to each other.

On the other hand, the park we are migrating to at the end of the month immediately stopped all activities two weeks ago, including closing their pool. They locked their office and you have to make an appointment to get in the office for business purposes. They took the situation serious and were very proactive. Their main concern was everyone's safety and not just revenue.

Guess what park we will book at next year?

J&C, almost sounds like our park in Sebring. Since it's owned by Home Town America they're calling the shots. So everything here is closed down, including the Comfort Stations, but life goes on for us in the RV section of the park.

We arrived in Port Orange 3/4, have reservations till May 1st.
The pool is open, people keep their distance but converse normally from a distance.
Beaches are closed.
Bars are closed.
Most restaurants are take out only, but some are offering limited seating 6-10ft apart.
Been staying in this campground for about 9 years now, we're very comfortable here practicing our social distancing.

Access to The Florida Keys will be restricted to residents and long term tenants effective this PM as I understand it. If the Keys are your destination, check on this before coming. Contact the Monroe county sheriff for information. Not a bad place to be “locked up “

We made it home from Florida on Saturday safe and sound. Our next planned trip is Branson, MO in June. Depending on what happens, we may have to cancel that. Right now we are sitting tight. After our two week mandated self-isolation is over, I will probably only go out for groceries and doctor's appointments (if those don't get cancelled).

Ohio just issued a stay at home order. Non-essential businesses shut down and no non-essential travel. If you live outside the state, you can come home. If you are a non-resident, you can leave the state to return home. The way I read it, it looks like basically no other RV travel. left to local law enforcement how to handle violators. Order is in effect for the next two weeks. Was planning a big trip to include all the New England states, down the coast to FL, then return home to OH. Looks like that is fubar for now.

I hope all my southern friends take this serious. Its not just going to stop we need to stop it. We need a total shut down of everything unless you want to be like Italy. Over 700 deaths in one day. I have had friends in Florida that returned home this week saying some people think everything is fine just keep doing what your doing. There going to learn the hard way I think. Stay safe

Ohio sounds like they are on marshall law. Then again a lot of folks misinterpret what shelter in place actually means. Is there a more restrictive level than shelter in place? It would have to be confinement.

Wisconsin Update

Here in Wisconsin our Governor has been very aggressive trying to manage this problem. So far he has went from banning groups of 10 to gather, to what happened today. Today there is a travel restriction for unneeded trips, you can still get food and the like, all unnecessary business must close too. Whats interesting is that many of the counties in northern Wisconsin where we live are themselves invoking travel bans into their respective areas. Some are telling people with cabins or recreational properties NOT to come into the county from outside the area. If you do you need to self quarantine for 14 days and bring all of your own food and supplies because you are not welcome at the local stores. Never thought I would see this!

Stay home. people are coming here from new york and the areas of the country that have issues as they think the warm will keep them safe. Well its not warm here, its hot, in the 90'S right now and you will be in the air conditioning along with everybody else. The restaurants are take out only and bars are closed and all beaches are closed along with all attractions. Stay home please. Dont come to Florida WE DO NOT WANT YOU HERE. As you add to the problems for us that live here trying to get supplies and prepare if there is a lock down.

We are leaving for our S&B in Ohio next week. We are pretty much locked down here so we may as well be locked done at home.CG reservations north are all OK. We are self contained in the RV and need nothing from the outside. Truck stops are open so no problem there. With the attractions closed and the tourist gone most every thing is closed or closing and it gets worse everyday.

Far from Martial Law

The order from the Ohio Governor is clear on what shelter in place means.

OK, just read it. It reads like most states. Stay in but you can go to the store, get fuel, go to Dr's, get out and go for walks, travel in and out of the state.

My understanding is shelter in place is doing nothing but 'flattenning the curve'. So I am guessing we will all catch it but over a longer period of time. Just like the flu. We all hunker down and gradually come back out and then catch the virus.
Am I way off here, or what????

Left South Texas Monday morning. No traffic. Went thru Fort Worth at 65 mph during 4:30 rush hour. Austin,Oklahoma City and Wichita looked like ghost towns. No problem with fuel Filled up in Norman Ok $1.99 for diesel. In OKC seen diesel for 1.89.

Please call your DR before going to appointments. All elective procedures are canceled. Most Doctors have set up online video chat for appointments.
It will get worse before it will get better.

Dont forget when fueling (gas pump handle and keypads) or hooking up to external utilities. You have no idea of the last person who touched that surface last. Use the tip of a pen with the cap on it to press buttons so you are not using your fingers. Short of wearing gloves.
There has not been paper products or pasta as well as PB&J on the shelves for over the past 3 weeks here in NH.

Be safe and use handwashing and sanitizer.

I cluster my usual Drs appointments for about now every year as to not interfere with our summer activities. All four appointments have been "rescheduled" for a (much) later time.

We've been wearing blue nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight when fueling up and remove them by turning them inside out and taking home for a thorough disinfecting for reuse. Normally we would just throw them away but suspect they may be hard to get for a while.
