I watched that video and can't believe how many people have hit that same bridge, with signs and blinking lights to warn you! Fifth wheel is over a foot taller than my previous travel trailer 12'9" according to specs, to me that means nothing lower than 13'6"!

I purchased a Garmin RV 760 GPS you enter all your data length width, height weight, set your preferences and it routes you based on that information.
Like all GPS unions it’s not perfect but I know it works.

Check out the App "Trucker Path" . It has the low clearance as well as a lot of other useful information. If you only turn on low clearance it is easy to see where not to go.

Trucker path keeps telling me “ path not optimized for truck, but we are working on it”. Does that mean it won’t alert me?
Where do you turn on the low clearances aforementioned?
Thanks!

The RVParky app has low clearances on their map. It may rely on user's input for reporting those low clearances, I'm not sure.

You have to select low clearance at the bottom menu.

Try this video.

Oh I already had it on. Mapping to GNP or anywhere for That matter, it keeps telling me path not optimized for truck but we’re working on it. That kind of scares me. Anyone else have any knowledge about this message?

I have only used it to locate low clearances. It appears that some routes are not available for truckers yet.

That’s the only thing I care about as well. It’s just that phrase the keeps bugging me. I’m afraid it won’t show low clearances in all areas “yet”

If you select Low Clearance and zoom in to the area that you are interested in it will show the low clearance area.

I think if you put in your route and then click on the "route tab" at the upper right corner it will show the route. It is just optimized for truckers.

I use a Garmin RV 660LMT and the trucker's atlas. So far, no problems on two cross-country and trans-Canada 12,000 mile trips.

I used the Good Sam Club app and checked it against the Truckers atlas, so far it works well!

RV Trip Wizard

I plan all my trips using this online program. It is a subscription. When you put in your vehicle specs, it will warn you of routes that will cause you a problem.

Keep in mind that covered bridges may have enough clearance listed but that is in the middle of the bridge and they have angled braces on the sides that can take out a part of the roof edge.

We use an app called Allstays on my iPad. Works great for trip planning. Not for real time use. You can filter for desired clearances. Also use Garmin RV760. Not all clearances are in the app or Garmin so you still have to be vigilant. Helps for route planning especially in the new England are.

Is that for the free APP or the Premium APP that shows low clearance?
