Interstate 1 in Florida vs 95

Is Interstate 1 a better route from the Keys to St Augustine or is it narrow? Pulling a 39 foot. Do you see the ocean most of the way?

If you're referring to Route 1 (not interstate) the answer's no. Route 1 from KW all the way north to Maine is, for the most part, strip malls and stoplights in and around the towns to passes through.

It becomes stop and go is several areas and is inland more than people think. The road along the ocean is A1A. Its best to plan your route jumping back west to 95 when there is no particular points of interest. The northern section is a nice drive. 90 or 202 to Jacksonville Beach then south thru Saint Augustine down to Daytona Beach. (During the week, not so much on weekends)

Hwy 1 goes through every town, thus lots of stop lights & traffic. I accidently got on 1 for a short period. 95 is a partial toll road too. If you travel Florida get a Sunpass toll tag or the fees will add up fast (experience here). We ended up with a couple hundred dollars of "mailed bills". I have a Sunpass now!
We stayed at Bluewater Key RV resort just N of Key West, it's awesome! St Augustine was a very enjoyable week too, will go back.
