I-85 South Carolina

Any tips on avoiding the I-85 section in South Carolina that has been under construction forever? It’s one of the roughest highways I’ve driven and not looking to towing that section. I was thinking dropping to highway 29 to avoid it.

I towed it Feb 7-8 and it was knuckle-biting. They even closed off the exit I needed to take to get to my campground for the night (Gaffney ex-KOA). The entire distance from Spartanburg to the NC line is tore up with jersey walls.
