Replaced Both Front Lippert Jack, Now Issues

As the title says, I’ve followed on how to bleed the system and only my slides are working, none of my 6 jacks are working with exception of the right front Jack kinda. When I turn on the control panel and choose manual only the front right came down but won’t lift the 5th and it won’t retract.

When I push the retract function and push front it won’t go up, if I push the rear the front right will go down and start lifting.

I put the lines on each Jack just like they where on my other ones I removed.

I don’t get why it’s not working now.

I think there is still air in the system.

Neither front jack had any oil on either side of the pistons when you put it all back together. Be sure and check your reservoir oil level. While you are pumping oil into one side of the cylinder, air is being forced out of the other back into your system. It may just simply be cavitating at this point. You could slightly loosen the retract hose on each front jack and try to extend them. The air will escape to the atmosphere instead of going back into the pump system. Be sure and tighten the hoses back up before you try to retract.

What does this solenoid do, I replaced to O rings and put that Allen screw back the same as it was.

could this be my issue.. I have bled the air out of the lines and there’s no air or in my reservoir any longer. Just for the hell of it I switched these two orange line around and then my two slide would not work so I’m pretty positive all my hook ups are correct

You still have air in your system.
Don't keep changing things. Just keep running the system up and down, in and out until the air is out.
If it worked before and all you did was change the front jacks and you put it all back as it was before then you still have air in the system.

Copy that, I guess I’ll get on it tomorrow morning again.

It’s a new day and not feeling so defeated...Here we again. I guess my expectations were set to high as I thought this would be easy peasy. Work on getting more air out, pull the slides in and out, continue to get the jacks able to go up and down starting at the rear jacks.

I’ve printed out the purge instruction from Lippert for the 6 point level up.

If this don’t work I guess I’ll have a mobile RV repair guy come out, I’ve use a guy when I first set up out here to replace the frig coil with an Amish brand.

I need my truck in the morning for work so I sure hope I can get this all working properly.

Had to replace two of ours last summer my fault we bent them. We ordered two from Lippert and had our dealer replace them as we can no longer do that kind of work . It was covered by our extended warranty and cost us 100 out of pocket. Oh and everything worked perfectly after the dealer install.

Guys, I’ve gone through this, pulling slides in and out several times and it still not working as it should.

Here’s what it did

1. Put the Curb side in bypass and manually worked the jacks, all 3 went down and all 3 came up.

2. Put the road side on bypass and manually worked the jacks, the two rear worked fine going down and up. The front road side goes down when the rear jacks go up and tries to go up when the rear jacks go down but stops trying and won’t go up.

When I try to retract the road side front it just won’t go up, it only take the pressure off the Jack and noting passed that.

Both slides work as they should.

Is it still an air in the system issue ?

How to get RV off the hitch?

I am curious - if I am ever in this situation - how do you safely get the unit raised enough to get it off the truck?

Without knowing any better I suppose I would take two bottle jacks, put down a good elevated base of 4x4s, center the battle jacks on a point on the frame behind the jack legs, and slowly start raising the unit. I would put a 2x4 between the frame and the bottle jack ram. I think I would add block points just behind the bottle jacks under the frame on both sides. Once I got it up high enough to get the truck out - then I would let the unit down a bit to rest on the frame blocks. All of this would be easy if it happened at my house because I have a boneyard full of crap to pull from. On the road I would probably be short of having the right stuff.

No ideas if this is close to the right procedure, but hopefully someone can correct me or edit the procedure so DadsHemi will have some sound advice if all else fails.

O my gosh, there got to be a better way to do this like a when you bleed your brakes with a vaccum pump.

My all else fail is calling a RV tech tomorrow and renting a car.

I’ve spent 1-1/2 days on this and I’m done with it, followed all the videos and lippert instructions. I did one Jack at time and had no idea it would be like this.

Not knowing what procedure you read through to get your system bled, I can only comment looking back over my shoulder. I don't understand why they wanted you to even mess with moving the slides as your slides and your hydraulic jacks are two separate systems that share a pump and reservoir. There would have been no air introduced to the slide circuit. I would have just replaced the two front jacks with the other four totally retracted and then cycled the two front jacks up and down while adding about a quart of fluid to make up for the loss. Once they worked, I might have cycled all six to remove any residual air. Are you sure you didn't mess with any set screw on any solenoid on a manifold next to the pump reservoir? If you did, turn that set screw to where it was before you started this whole process.

Positive, on my driver side front Jack there is a slide solenoid. When I first retracted the slides a few time a bunch of air was in my reservoir.

MikenDebbie ... Should your time come, don't make this any harder than you need to. Just leave the fiver hooked up to the truck, swap out the cylinder or cylinders just like they came off, and bleed the system making sure you add fluid to replace what goes in the new cylinder(s). I've replaced three or four of these cylinders over the years for people and it actually goes pretty easily. I don't know what's happening to Dad'sHemi without actually being there. It does take three or four complete extend/retracts to get most of the air out.

MikenDebbie ... I just reread your question and figure out you weren't asking how to do it the first time just how to get it off the truck should you get stuck like dadshemi.
