“Although with the hydraulic jack system, it should be easy to install a kill switch somewhere to just disable the hydraulics to make it immobile.”

The wire that goes from the battery to the back of the LCI panel for the levelers has a 10 amp inline fuse. It is in a plastic enclosure about 1” square. Pop the cover and remove the fuse and then there is no way to operate the external panel. I also have a “Chicago” barrel lock on the battery compartment door

I only use a pin lock if I am leaving it parked up in the hills, and I am not going to be around. other than that I don't worry about it, BUT I have Plenty of insurance on the coach.

Mine looks like a more robust version of an old bicycle U-bolt lock. When it is pulled up snug there is no access to the hasp which would facilitate cutting. Probably the weakest link in the design is the keyhole in the locking bar. I don't know if drilling the lock out would make it possible to to retract the locking pins. Remember, no matter the lock, a determined thief with enough time will get what they are after. The purpose of the lock is to make the thief go looking for an easier target.

The 5er itself - a length of case hard chain between two wheels and/or around a spring and again those Gr 8 bolts and Nyloc nuts work great. In both cases, a thief will probably go elsewhere where it's easier. You can also wrap the king pin with a piece of chain and that nut-bolt combo too.
18V angle grinder.

Just noted your picture posted with your name. You might want to check if you are using the picture with out Jason Wynn's permission. That looks a lot like Gone with the Wynn's

This lock is a little more difficult to grab or pry or hit than many others.
Sorry but my phone likes to rotate pictures even though I’m holding it upright.

I, being a retired locksmith, prefer the Blaylock unit. I understand it takes a separate padlock. Master makes a great one that comes with a black body with a boron alloy shackle that’s extremely hard to cut. They are very bolt cutter resistant. If you want to really get constructive you can grind the pin down JUST where the shackle goes through and use a concealed shackle puck lock. No access to the shackle.

Did you ever see a Medico lock. They can’t be picked or at least no one has ever picked one. Medico had a $10,000 prize fro any one who could pick one. There were no takers. The tumblers are all cut on different angles and different heights. You haft to get the angle and the height right to pick it. Not impossible but so close you will never get it. They guard the White House and the Pentagon and most other important buildings in Washington. The last price I saw on them was over a hundred dollars and that was several years ago. But if you wont something really secure.

Medeco’s are great locks. I was never able to pick one. Another one that was advertised as unpickable was the later model Abloy. 10 free spinning discs that have to be lined up. The Master pro that I mentioned can also accept the Abloy cylinder. TOUGH system. Mind you, Master makes some pretty cheesy locks too. Good hammer picks them.

The chances of getting a rig stolen are slim to none unless you are leaving it in a really bad place.

For you lock experts, a curiosity question. I seem to be a lock magnet as I have a lot of miscellaneous locks collected over many years. Basic locks. Nothing like the expensive, extra secure locks mentioned. But my question concerns combination locks. I have two that have 4 individual rotating numbered wheels, 0-9, for a 4 digit code. How hard is it for someone to open that type lock not knowing the code?

Specifically this lock.

I knew the guy who started Medico. He also had a large machine shop Mechanical Development Co. and that is where the name Medico comes from. He had two friends he gave a 25% share each in Medico. The later sold out for 40 million making his buddies wealthy or more so.

I also use a King Pin Lock, not so much worried about being stolen, but more to keep from getting grease on myself as I try to keep some grease on the pin.

We have a Ft Knox Lock on our rig. Saw it on Big Truck Big RV. It's solid steel and heavy. We don't have any worries when we leave our rig in storage. They have locks for all types of trailer and hitches.
