Austin, TX area Montana Repair Facility

Hi! We had an unfortunate incident where a tire lost its tread and did some damage to the underside and body of our rig. We have a window of opportunity from mid December through the first week of January to leave our rig in the Austin area. It may be a long shot, but I'm hoping to find a reputable place that might be able to squeeze us in during that time slot. I can certainly do my research to find places to contact, but I know we have some great members that might have some recommendations. Any thoughts?

Thanks!!
Tom

Tomcat - contact Auer’s RV Service in Georgetown.
I have used them for Splendide washer dryer install and some routine service.
Their shop is on Hwy 29 east maybe 5 miles from downtown Georgetown.
They are about 5 miles from my house so very convenient for me!
Call them and make an appointment. I’ll bet they can help.
Sorry to say but they are very busy.

Tomcat - for what it’s worth…Montana dealers in the area are…
Crestview RV Georgetown TX (north of Austin)
Camper Clinic Buda TX (south of Austin)

I had a bad experience with Camper Clinic in 2017 so I can’t recommend them.
Crestview is a large dealer, nice facilities, big service area, lots of bays. I have only used them for yearly state inspections and some routine service. Crestview also has a dealership in Buda across IH35 from Camper Clinic but they don’t sell Montana’s there. I don’t know anything about their service.

In June I discovered my water heater was not working. Crestview is 8 miles from my house so I went there to inquire about them looking at my water heater. They were scheduling that service for early February 2022. I ended up addressing the problem myself…Crestview may not be able to help you in your time frame.

Thanks much for the reply! It’s always good to have recommendations from people who have actually had good experiences.

Since posting this I did some of my own research as well. No matter where I might go, the parts would be 4-6 weeks out, anyway, so I will have to figure something else out. I will probably seal up the damage that needs to be sealed against the elements and just wait until we get back to Michigan in the spring when we will have the flexibility and can go without the rig for however long it takes.

Tomcat, I’m not sure if you can travel with your unit, but many satisfied Montana owners have taken their units to Affinity RV in Goshen. They are located right next to Keystone. I have heard nothing but good things about them.
