Battery Shut Off
Forgive this question, but I want to make sure I have this right in my mind. The Battery switch in my convenience center is in the off position. I am doing some final checks before we pull out Monday and I can't recall what position that is suppose to be in, "on" or "off". I obviously want to be charging my batteries.

Turn the light in the convenience center on, if it comes on battery is connected, if it does not battery is disconnected.

The wording is confusing to me also. If I'm not sure I do what Bingo suggests. The light won't lie.

Thanks for quick response. The darn things seems backwards to me. I checked and that light is bright so I must have it in the right position.

Which is why after having three different Montana's, the only way I can be sure is to turn that light on. And I agree, I think the wording is backwards, one would think that ON would mean the battery is on, but I think it means the disconnect is on, or is it the other way around??

If you can remove the red key/switch the battery is disconnected.

With my luck the key would become disconnected and fall down the access hole and I'd be out of luck. Oh wait, the whole problem is I'm always out of luck

But if you have the camper connected to 120V AC, all the lights will still come on even when the key is in the off position.

With my rig the key is connected to the switch with a wire. Once you turn it to the off position the key can be renoved and just hangs there....can't loose it.

I tested the battery disconnect in the convenient center and it did disable the 12v light up front near the hitch and hydraulic and battery door, but the Level Up system still have power. Is that right? All I did was turn on the LCI system and it lit up.

The battery disconnect switch should disconnect the interior coach 12v needs ONLY. The trailer needs should still work - landing gear and brakes for example. The disconnect (if wired properly) is designed so that any coach draw does not drain the battery. There are still items that MUST work. Recharging the battery from the TV should also work with the disconnect enabled. The things you won't be able to use are ANY 12v items in the rig - like 12v parts of the fridge, furnace, WH, and lights and any hardwired alarms (like the propane alarm).
So jfaberna, it seems that things are working correctly for you. Even with the disconnect enabled for the coach, you should be able to Level Up your rig.

I agree. I think things are correctly wired. No lights, but Level Up has power when disconnect is pulled.
