Check Those Hitch Bolts Periodically

Haven't towed the Montana since early last September but have driven the truck about 10,000 miles since then. Getting ready to head out Friday and been checking things out on both the Monty and the truck. Checked my hitch bolts and got a surprise. 7 of the 8 bolts were snug, but far from being properly tightened. And on the 8th one, the nut had backed off about 1/2".

Smart move on your part. I do same periodically! Now, you know you're safe.

I check the torque on the hitch bolts just like the torque on the wheel lugs.
