Quest-QR2000

Have a 2005 bigsky with a Quest home theater. All of a sudden it would not play dvds. Said they were not in the proper format. I have the operation manual but it is of no help.

Sorry for your problem, but I have to admit, if you got 6 years out of the Quest, you're doing good. Don't try to fix it, just replace it. They don't make them anymore, company went out of business a couple years ago.
Get a good home theater system and use the existing wires, that is what most of us have already done.

Does this happen with all DVDs? If you are playing home recorded DVDs, be sure they have been "finalized" properly. Good luck.

We just bought an immaculate new-for-us 2005 Montana 3400RL that has the Quest QR2000 system. (Was this a standard system when the coach was new?) The QR2000 is in great condition and plays the audio throughout the coach with is wonderful, but it doesn't connect properly with the TV to display the DVD's video feed (audio is great).

Our coach's previous owners (great people who took care of "her") upgraded the TV to a Vizio E320VA in December 2010 which has 4 HDMI inputs, but the QR2000 has NO HDMI capabilities built-in since it was manufactured during that transition period when HDMI started to take over. From what I can tell, the QR2000 is very full-featured except for no HDMI and no Blue Ray.

The QR2000 is currently connected to the Vizio using RCA-type connectors for the Audio (Red-White/Left-Right) and a Yellow input for the video that shows a bad splitscreen black and white video feed that is wavy. To watch a DVD, we needed to hook up my MacBook Pro via HDMI and use the Vizio's audio instead of the QR2000 surround sound.

Has anybody else found any adapters or workarounds to keep the QR2000 but loop in a new BlueRay player through it and our HDMI TV?

Could this just be a case of cheap connectors needing replacing?

Thank you.
