New info on Sailun 637 tires

I was just at my local Montana dealer and had a look at the just arrived Montana's. They have the Sailun 637 235/80/16 G rated tires. They have 5 fresh ones in stock and all of the Sailuns on them are plant MW. Tires are stamped 21st week of 21 and clearly stamped made in China. Not Vietnam. Thoughts?

Sailun's are the best.

Btw, during the last 13 month I had to replace 3 tires due to nails and screws.
I would have been pretty pi$$ed replacing more expensive tires.

The Sailuns made in China have been great for six years now. If those were truly made in China, I'd buy them.

I probably misspoke. The Montana's were "fresh" arrivals from the factory. My point was that they had "made in China" Sailuns vs. the Vietnam version that seems to be creating the current crop of failures. Wondering if production has reverted back to China or if Keystone has a different supply chain than the tire retailers.

Made in China but assembled in Vietnam? I wouldn`t put it past them. Kinda like the vehicles that are US parts but assembled in Mexico. Or like the 2006 GTO I bought was a General Motors car but built in Australia and shipped here. Hope this isn`t the case cause i`ll need a set soon, time will tell.

They were a poor excuse for a GTO. Just didn’t look the part and of course they didn’t last long just like the Ford Thunderbird.

Happy trails.

The tires are still at the Tire shop, not for sure on the date, I bought the 2021 in April, the Montana was built in 1st part of 2021. I will try to get the date of the Saliuns on Monday. Not worried about selling truthfully, many construction trailers used in my area, the sailuns will sell, the new Carlisle sold in 1 day, after the tire shop removed them and replaced with the Goodyear G614's.

Well I put a roots super charger on it dyno`d at 600 hp to the wheels with tune, don`t think that was to shabby at the time. It was a absolute rocket with the torque it produced. So unless you owned something that was factory built and was better, you can`t not knock others peoples choices.....but some people

D&L, I'll gladly buy those Sailuns you have if they are made in China. If they are OEM tires they probably are Chinese. Seems Keystone gets China made from Tredit but if you try to buy a set they will be from Vietnam. If you are heading south any time soon , let me know and I will meet you anywhere in GA.

I do know they were made in China. Stamped on the tire. They came on the 2021 3762BP, we bought it in April 2021!

Happy trails.

I have followed your posts concerning the Sailuns. When I first saw that you were replacing them ,my assumption you were scared off because of the Vietnam made issues with them. Now that I see they were made in China, just curious as to why you would replace a new set of Sailuns , their track record ,not counting these recent issues with the Vietnam made have been second to none.

Pretty sure Montana bailed on the G614's they used to offer , because of there weight rating not meeting the specs of the heavier Montana fifth wheels .Yours being nearly 17,000 GVWR , G614's don't have the correct weight rating to meet your fifth wheel @ 3750 lbs @ 110 psi. Reason they have went with the G rated St's that have 4080 lbs @ 110psi . I know the G614's have improved ,I guess , we don't hear about them blowing out nearly as often ,but at one time they were terrible ,and tore up more fifth wheels than those Sailuns ever will ..

I too would be very skeptical of any Sailun made in Vietnam , but the China made as said have been the tire to have .

I have had Goodyears on most of my RV's two of our 5th wheels were Mobile Suites, both's had weight's more than every 5th wheel we have owned. With the Mobile Suites we traveled thru 44 States, each year we were on the road 4 to 6 months, From Tennessee to Utah, to South Texas, then Florida the last several winters. I do not trust Saliuns do the research you will see there are lots of problems with China made tires. But, those who use them that is their choice. I have a set of Saliuns for sell $400.00, made in China. Good Luck with your choice's.

Happy trails.

I know all about the quality of China made RV tires ,well documented . It's also well documented with Sailun S637's made in China ,having gained a reputation second to none . Goodyear is far from that ,and that is well documented . You had no issues with Goodyear ,many did , do the research ,the reading is endless on blowouts on the G614 Goodyears . Now do a research on the Sailun S637's made in China ,and see what you come up with .

Granted these Vietnam made Sailuns have got some problems . It's unfortunate for whatever reasons these Vietnam made have tarnished the stellar reputation Sailun has gained over the years , plus a reasonable price . I will never let Goodyear rob me again without a gun for the outrageous price they want for a G614.

All I can say , someone is going to get as good or better tire that you are selling ,then what you are promoting, and at a great price . FYI ,I am on my second set of Sailuns, and will buy again ,as long as they are coming out of the China plant . As said Goodyear only got to rob me once .

Thanks for your opinion. The Goodyear issue tires were made in China, yet that was well documented. If you prefer Sailuns, buy the Sailuns I try very hard not to buy China made products. Thats my choice!

After full timing and RVing since 2005, owning many different brand of RV's, owned many GM Trucks. I have been there and done that.

Happy trails.
