I installed 2 of the 12 volt battle born batteries in 2019. Boon docked for 11 days straight in September at 9300 feet in Colorado. Could go 3 days before having to run my generator to recharge. They are a great battery. Massive improvement over the single 12v my unit came with.

Best wishes with your choices. Just in the name of full disclosure the SOK't that the Will Prowse followers are purchasing are a referral link meaning that the seller and the reviewer, in this case are the same Will Prowse. Nothing wrong with that just full disclosure so that you know there is a financial interest there.

I just purchased four of the Lion Energy UT-1300 for an APU project I am working on. I fully expect that the batteries will perform as expected.

I just ordered two more myself for a total of 6. You get what you pay for.

For the life of me I cannot understand why you would post something like that. You must have been drinking the Prowse kool-Aid. He's no electrician either.

I do admit I like the "type" of terminals that Battle Born has as it's impossible to ruin the battery by stripping a bolt out. They come shipped with 5/16" but I upped all of mine to 3/8" bolts which is the hole size of the terminals and cable connectors. Probably unnecessary but made me feel better.

While on the subject.... We've been unplugged for two full months now running the generator only to do laundry and run the AC once. Our system is working flawlessly. We run 120V fan in our bedroom all night, have nightlights plugged in 24/7, charge Dyson, phones, tablet and laptop with no regard for day or night.

We're running this inverter which stays on 24/7:

https://www.amazon.com/Reliable-Effi...6428054&sr=8-3

I did open it up before installation to be sure all was well and found the power wire screws not as tight as I would like. I also used my wife's blow dryer as a resistor to pre charge the capacitors before I hooked it up. Not sure if it helps with longevity but I got no spark whatsoever when I did the final battery connection.

RS, sounds like a great setup you have built. What watt output are your panel package for recharging your system? I am still trying to decide how many batteries to go with, although Battleborn suggested if I start with two I have 2 years to add more to the system without issues, is their suggestion. Also thinking about getting another 200w suitcase cells to move into good sun on the ground, using it's own charge system, and possibly adding another 200w on the roof for 500W roof solar.

Lots to consider, I probably should just try the Solarflex as- built and see what we end up using for battery life and how often we need to run the portable gen, but the next 2+ months will be tough to not purchase "stuff".

Thanks

Allen

We have 12 100W Renogy panels wired in three parallel groups of four, wired in series, controlled by a 60A MPPT controller. This configuration keeps the amperage low enough to use the factory panel prewire from the roof.

Most days we're fully recharged by noon. Overcast days maybe 2:00PM.

I bought 2 Lion batteries, replacing (for the first time ever) lead acid batteries. We boondocked recently and we ran the furnace a lot due to cold temperatures. I’ve installed a battery gage and it’s set for 200 amp/hr.
The batterie’s performance was amazing. We were down to 37% and the lights, furnace and water pump operated without issue.
There is a tremendous amount of good information available. Read it and figure out what’ll work best for you.
I can highly recommend the Lion Lithium batteries.

Not sure about others, but I bought my SOK batteries off their site and did not use a referral link. Pretty sure my correspondence with "Min" had nothinv to do with Prowse. Got UPS tracking info this morning. It'll be a couple weeks before I get them installed and clean up the wiring in the battery locker. Will probably post some before/after shots.

Look on iTunes I believe his name is Will Prouse. He does real world testing.

Correct spelling for Will’s last name is Prowse.
