broken light socket

2011 - Monty 3580rl...
the hanging lights over the island take a 1076 bulb. The one unit has never held the bulb tight - I had to twist it every trip to get it to lite. Replaced the bulb three times in one year. Now the bulb will not stay in the socket - the plastic shell is broken. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement socket ?? Montana customeer service says I have to replace the whole unit.

Thanks

Maybe a small dab of heat resistant RTV?

The socket is an automotive base, BA15d. Perhaps you could get one at an auto parts store?

Thank You Michael I will try that.

There is a piece missing so I can not glue it together.

Keystone wants $25 shipping for the $30 new light unit.
May try Gufstafsen the manufactureer of the RV light units.

Did you try a good electrical supply house. Its just A 12volt socket . maybe even a auto zone or good car parts store.its worth a try.

Just spoke with Cindy at Gustafson Lighting - they do the major of light units for most RV. The light units and glass shades have a two year warranty from Gustafson. But any claim for warranty i
must come from Keystone. Gustafson ship directly to owner once they get the claims form from Keystone. SO now I am waiting for my form to be processed.
Keystone told me I had to buy a new uniy at $25 to $35 plus pay shipping $25. Gustafson will direct ship at their expense.

superbrightleds.com sells various bases. I used to buy led lights from them, but the prices and performance that Michael (snfexpress) got were so much better that I stopped buying from superbright.

Update:

After two go rounds with Keystone people....
my dealership service person called the light manufacturer and verified what claim form they needed to replace the whole light unit in my 2011 Montana...
NEWS: dealer called my light unit came in NO COST TO ME........

Lesson: don't take first response or answer.... call around.
