Dometic 320 toilet repair?

We have a Dometic 320 Toilet. I'm bring the RV out of winterized mode so I can travel on Friday. I noticed that when I turn on the pump and press lightly on the flush petal that I get a small leak around the petal area. If I press all the way down the leak stops.

I can do this a couple of times and it behaves the same, but from then on no leak at all, even lightly pressed.

I don't know if this is a cold weather issue or not. It's no freezing here and once the RV heats up I don't see any other water issues. I had everything winterized before and that includes blowing out the toilet line.

Anyone notice this issue and how did you fix it?

If I can limp thru the next week without having to do any major toilet work, I'd love to leave it alone.

Update: I talked with Dometic and they said that the only thing on that side of the toilet that can cause a leak is the water valve. They thought it was odd that it didn't leak all the time, not just when lightly pressed.

It turns out that the water valve is a snap in replacement. You just mash some tabs, remove, then disconnect the hoses. Hook the hoses to the new valve and snap it back in.

So I'm going to order a new water valve for $16.

My Dometic 320 lasted 9 months before I had to replace the leaking flush valve.

No, but it is a tight squeeze for someone no longer made of rubber. Check out youtube videos and you will be enlightened as to the process. The valve is about $20 on amazon.

Keep in mind that the Dometic 320 is not the standard toilet in a Montana. If you have one you had to install it yourself.

I've had my 310 for about 6 months. We are part timers. On current trip, ball flapper quit working, no flush!

The square shaft plastic piece that connects ball flapper to foot pedal broke. Fortunately I had a complete set of replacement parts from first delivery that was smashed upon arrival. Stripped all of the parts and am glad I carried them on this trip.

ours started after 1 year to leak around the pedal when you pressed down to flush. The problem was the seal from the pedal shaft to the inside failed and the only recourse was a new toilet under warranty. but i will still take the dometic over the thetford any day.

"If I press lightly on the flush petal that I get a small leak around the petal area... in the words of Archie Cambell...Well,don't do that!
