Battery / Converter-Charger Upgrade
Hey Guy, I am in the process of replacing my 12 volt battery for two Trojan T-105's (6volts). According to all the literature I have found, these batteries required 14.8 volts to charge properly. I have been researching converter/charger replacements and have found most only provide a boost of 14.4 -14.6 volts. I am looking for recommendations concerning the proper converter/charger you have used to provide proper charging of these batteries.
Your comments would be highly appreciated.

You're right on what they need, but I don't know of any converter/chargers that do that. I turned mine off after hooking up solar and an inverter/charger that did charge at 14.8. You might want to go that route instead.

Be sure you get a smart charger so it doesn't fry your new batteries.

Edward, you might look at the T-125's, not much more money, same footprint.

I had four of these in my diesel pusher and they were charged via a combined inverter/charger and never had any issues in the nine years I had it. Don't know of any converters that charge above 14.4. John

66 pounds?! I know lead is heavy, but that seems extreme. Or maybe it's just me getting weaker in my old age.

Thanks for the feedback, I am considering the T-125 and T-145, beside weight and cost, are there any other concerns I should be concern about?
Are there any name brand converter/charger you can recommend for replacing the unit that keystone installed?
Thanks again
Ed

Are you considering an Inverter in your future? You can get a Inverter/Charger you can program for higher charging voltages. Look at the Magnum MS-2012 With it's remote panel. A couple of us have that model, I like mine.
