Fresh Water Tank Drain

First time out in our new 2010 3665RE and getting to know the unit. I have found everthing except the fresh water tank drain. I found the drain hose but there is no valve to open or close. What am I missing???

It's under the rig. It will be about a 1/2" line with either a valve or a screw cap. This allows that the fresh tank drain is at the lowest point in the tank to drain completely.

Mine actually protrudes below the undercovering about a couple of inches back by the spare tire under the rig and pretty much lines up with where the fresh water is located. Your location may be different, but where your fresh water fill is located and look straight across and under your rig at that point is a safe bet where it's located.

On our 3400 in back underneath there's a hose hanging down with a screw cap.
undo the cap and let drain. I'm not sure about your model!

Stand by the area where you can fill your tank with a hose.
Now look under the belly and you should see a hose with a cap on it. Best of luck. Let us know what you find.

It's hanging down where John kohl said it would be, right in front of the rear stabilizers.

You can replace with a valve and not have to deal with the cap

Our 2001, 2003, and 2007 Montanas all had a screw cap. However, the freshwater tank drain on our 2007 now looks like this.

The parts came from either Lowe's or Home Depot, don't recall which. I had to buy just two parts:

1. the valve with female threads (to fit the existing drain fitting) and a male hose connector (for routing water away from the rig)

2. cap to cover the hose connector (just to keep it from getting gunged up with road dirt/mud

Installation was simple. You know if I did it myself then it has to be simple. I removed the cap and connector from the existing threaded connector on the drain line and took the connector with me to find a valve with the correct thread size. I then reinstalled the connector (sans cap) and threaded the new valve onto that connector. The black cover on the hose connector can be threaded or a press fit, whichever you can find.

Ron, My 09 3605RL is the same way. No valve, just a cap. Home Depot or Lowes or any hardware store will have the screw on valve. I don't know why Keystone wouldn't spend the extra $2 for a valve. Go figure.

That drain is the "low point" drain for the permanent water tank. If you want to get ALL the water out of it, remove the cap and drive the rig.

I found the drain, but no cap or valve, just an open hose. I put water in the fresh tank and water ran right out the drain hose. No way to stop it. Guess I forgot to add this to my "options" list when I bought the 3665RE. Now off to Lowe's for a fix, thanks to sreigle!!

Mine twisted off in my hand a few months ago. I think this setup has a limited life--but it is easy to fix--at least mine was.

With that limited life comment, in freezing weather that cap, valve or whatever you have, freezes and will break since it has no protection from the cold. I forgot to drain mine and it froze so I took my hot cup of coffee and held it up so the cap was in the coffee and after a few minutes it thawed out so I could drain it like I should have earlier.
