Nice picture! Of course they wouldn't install it correctly, that would require thought and then if someone could see it from below, they would see the chipboard is exempt from formaldehyde regs! Before carpeting, you may want to think about sealing the chipboard to reduce off-gassing.

They build these upside down, si technically they were correct. I also believe the smooth side down is for safety. As normal applications are on pitched roofs and the other side has texture for footing.

Well, it could be worse. It could have been made in China!

Um, no, replacing carpet inside, on floor, but I think you were kidding.

Did you ever use any OSB? You put the click side down because it’s, well slick and the other side isn’t. It’s for safety on a steep roof.

The "top" side is faced out because it is more moisture resistant.

Looks correct to me. On a roof the smooth or printed side would be down, or inside the structure, in a RV it would be up, or inside the structure.

I just did a search for 'OSB panel orientation', and this is what it found:
The OSB roof panels should be installed with the grade stamp facing into the attic and the screened surface (with the nail guide lines) facing up.Nov 26, 2020
So, when used as flooring, orientation doesn't make any difference.
