Another roof nightmare

After reading through the threads concerning loose roofs, I see that there mostly about the nose cap coming loose. My problem was that the wood roof panels were lifting and streching the membrane. I took it to the dealer and replaced the roof. What was found was the screws used to attach the panels to the frame were too short, and of a thin gauge, held down by a few threads. We both agreed that the screws used were the type used for interior paneling. I hope the factory installer just had a brain fart, and this is not standard operating procedure.

Undoubtedly a bean counter was making a materials decision rather than an engineer or a designer. It is familiar territory to me. Part of my career was spent as a Mechanical Designer. Some BBA's and MBA's have an excessively inflated view as to the dimensions of their expertice.

Now take it easy. There are some bean counters on here. I'm glad you underlined "Some" because the rest of us are GOOD.
