CPAP machine placement

Just became a member of the CPAP club and am concerned as to where to place the machine. We have a 2012 38' rear bedroom with queen bed and the shelves on each side of the bed are too small. They don't recommend placement below the bed level. How have members resolved this issue? Ideas and recommendations are needed.

I have a 2020 3790RD and I put it on the floor of the slide next to the bed. I've never heard of there being problems placing it below the bed...but that doesn't mean I was paying attention like I should have been about placement of the machine. All I can say is that I have not had any problems with where my machine is placed.

Ditto to what dtingle said above. Used it that way since 2006.

CPAP

I place my CPAP on the mattress up above my head in the corner never a problem and the hose is less of a problem as well.

We have a 2019 3791RD. I put mine on the raised floor under the side of the bed. It's the part that goes in and out with the slide. I've never heard of not putting them below your head. I use a humidifier and years ago had mine above my head level. Almost drown one night when I pulled the hose too hard and got water in it. I always keep it below head level now, so any water in the hose flows down hill.

I really should not try to answer this because I don't know what a CPAP machine is. But if it's a breathing machine my dad was on oxygen and we left the unit in the kitchen area and ran the hose to his bed area. I don't think I am being to helpful here. If so I am sorry.

No problem, Charlie. CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. It's a device that blows air at a specific pressure through a flexible hose to a face or nasal mask for those of us with sleep Apnea. It prevents the airway from relaxing and closing during sleep which causes one to stop breathing. The humidifier uses distilled water to provide moisture that is supposed to prevent drying out your sinuses.

I use a ten ft hose and place mine on the cabinet in the closet. Cord easily reaches AC outlet in closet.CPAP rides safely on cabinet top on travel days. My unit at the S&B has been below head level for over a decade with no problems. Same cpap with humidifier above head level in the rv also no problems.
