You have 3 choices on ocean front; Ocean Lakes RV Resort, Lakewood RV Resort, and Pirate Land Campground. If you take your golf cart you will have to stay at Ocean Lakes. Lakewood sites are tad bigger, but no pull thru’s. Pirate Land is a little more rustic, but nice. Ocean Lakes you get to reserve by site number, and there bathhouses are new and really nice. But, it is more crowded. Golf cart galore. Either one, you won’t be disappointed, I promise. We are Lakewood freaks, for 32 years. Mainly, cause it is run by Christian’s, and they don’t put up with bad people. Ocean Lakes has concrete pull thrus, ocean front. Both has great websites. BUT, they are always full. We book a year out. You will love it. Got children?

Thank you for the response Jamesb, No children, just my wife and I. So I guess Lakewood and Pirateland dont allow golf carts. I was also told North Myrtle beach campground. Are you familiar with that.

Unless it has changed, Ocean Lakes did not allow motorcycles at your site. Had to park them at front of park. This was several years ago, so please verify.

North MB Campground looks really nice and spacious. But for us, we need to be on the ocean. All of them have weird motorcycle and golf cart rules. But controlling the Harley noise is understandable. We leave July 11 for Lakewood for a week. Two years ago while visiting the Zoo, we stayed at Amelia Court Campground. It was nice. I guess your beach trip will be determined maybe by availability, at this time ? The next recommendation is Myrtle Beach Travel Park, it’s really big and nice, more down north a little. And the last would be Apache Campground. Nothing negative, just low key and smaller, has a pier onsite.

Please be aware the Covid-19 virus is rampant in South Carolina. Myrtle Beach is a hotspot. I would not advise going there this summer but, if you do, wear a mask, wash your hands, and take all precautions that you can. Many places are closing their doors again until this new wave of cases subsides. Stay safe.

We stayed at Huntington beach state park last June. Really nice place with large sites with a short walk to the ocean. Air conditioned bath houses. Only issue we had was the heat, it was ridicules.

Guess the rules changed?, we stayed at Lakewood last summer for two weeks, golf carts all over the place. I would call and double check.

Just returned from a week at Lakewood and to say, the resort was doing a good job with Covid restrictions. Nothing was overly crowded, and social distancing was no problem. We stayed to ourselves and went to the beach every day. I think we left twice to go to the grocery store. That’s not to say you couldn’t get into a crowd, like the basketball court. Otherwise, masks were worn in all buildings, including ice cream store. Seemed to be a lot of empty sites. Beach wasn’t overly crowded. They even stopped the golf cart gaggles and parades. I would go again, but maybe not if I had young teenagers. The virus, evidently is in Myrtle Beach, but then again, it’s in your hometown. It’s all about self discipline. Be safe and have fun. That’s why we all tow our own houses behind us, cleanliness.

No one has mentioned Travel Park RV resort at the other end of south Myrtle Beach. Near all the big shows (not open) Bare Foot Landing (open) on the beach with about 800 pull through s sites and all the things the other campgrounds noted here have but not as many kids running around acting stupid with daddy`s golf cart. We have stayed at all the on ocean campgrounds and Ocean Lakes (very crowded) and Travel Park are the best for camping IMHO.
That being said we encountered rude females at check in and won`t be going back. Seems to be an increasing problem with them were ever you go. But you might have better luck.
