Anyone Replaced This???

After inspecting further, I found the rubber portion of our suspension is cracked and pulling apart (see pics). Has anyone replaced this piece? Wondering if I should just replace the rubber bushing or have a whole new mount welded on and upgrade to the Morryde 3000 or 4000? Thanks for all the help so far.

Lots of discussion about this. Do a Search on Moryde blocks or some such variation. I posted some links below. Highlights from them are:
o - a crack larger than 3" long and 3/4" deep call for replacement.
o- Delamination is cause to replace
o - Call Moryde as they are great to work with and warranty the blocks for 9-10 years. They are also good at tech support and diagnosing whether your blocks need replacing.

We purchased a used 2011 3150RL this year and have went through most of the suspension getting ready for our first trip next week. Replaced the shear springs (mine were 16K), added 3 x-factor axle braces, heavy duty wet-bolt kit, repacked the wheel bearings and upgraded to new sailun tires. My shear springs were about the same as yours and leaf springs are in good shape. I Was considering several other suspension upgrades but decided to give the original suspension a shot as this is our first 5'er and I've dumped a bundle into it already. hoping for the best, joe.

Joe-- When you upgraded to the Sailun tires, did you also upgrade your rims or where they already rated for the 110 psi?

Yes , I believe they are factory rims and were stamped for 110 psi on the back of the rims. We upgraded from the factory E rated 235/80R/16 , to G rated 235/85R/16. Joe.

UPDATE: I found the shear springs on several sites, listed anywhere from $73.00 on a pretty questionable site (that others here have bought from successfully I have to add) to $160 on the major RV supply sites. . The price on Amazon was $81 and the price from MORryde was about $145.00. On Tweetys.com they were at $104.00, but quote the "Lowest Price Guaranteed". I sent them an email with the questionable site's link for $73 not expecting to hear anything back. The next day I received an email with a Thank You and a link to their page listing the springs at $72.99. Guess they came through, so I ordered them and the wet bolt kit. I talked to a local spring company and they are going to custom make the springs slightly heavier that was originally was on it. I'll keep updating.

I had to replace mine when they failed on a trip after only two years. Called Morryde they sent me new ones under warranty and reimbursed me for the install.

I got the shear springs this year for about $80 a piece and the wet bolt kit for about $140 both from Amazon. Got the X-factor braces (3) from Morryde, I believe they were about $130 each. Had a local spring shop install everything and add a 2 inch lift for about $360. Which I thought was very fair. Local RV dealers wanted about 3 thousand to upgrade to Morryde SRE 4000 or Comfort ride with slipper springs and shocks. Will be leaving Monday for our first shakedown run to McCall, Idaho.

As a side note to anyone with a wet bolt kit, don't assume the spring bushings won't wear out. Even with mucho greasing they wear. I just inspected mine and some bushings had worn through and came out in pieces. Too bad they don't make a roller bearing kit for these.

Regarding worn out wetbolts, how many years/miles do you think you got out of yours?
Hmm, half the time I can't even get grease to go into the bolts...But I try every 2k miles or so.
I had my wetbolts installed in 2012 (8 years ago) and 27,000 miles ago...

There was another thread on this but if you can't get grease to go in your wet bolts, try jacking the coach and getting the weight off. That worked for me. I also had to replace a clogged zerk fitting. Mine are 3 years old and two were installed dry from the factory.

After I had the wet bolt kit installed this spring. I had only 1 zerk fitting that would not take any grease. I used a 6mm wrench to loosen the offending zerk fitting, then it took the grease easily and I snugged it back down. It was an easy fix that may be worth a try.

Just a question for you guys currently ordering the shear springs ... how do you know what density you're getting? Is it declared on the website? Years back I replaced mine as MORryde had sent me new ones free of charge. My 3150 came out with 16 durometer shear springs, but the rep sent me 19 durometer shear springs as he said that is what MORryde goes with as a replacement.

I contacted Morryde customer service with trailer VIN#, and model i.e., 2011, 3150RL, they told me that 16 was correct for my unit and I think they priced them at about 125 each. However, I got mine from amazon for about 80 dollars each and went with the 20, and they actually shipped from Morryde. I got them in about 4 days. BTW. 16 was what actually came out of the unit.

Contact Morride.com parts tell them your axel weight rating found on RV sticker and they will get you the proper springs. Remember the hitch carries about 20% of the gross weight so a 13-14k gross rv could have 6k axels. Proper springs give the best ride so bigger is not always better even though they fit. Genuine morride parts is worth the extra $$ when it comes to these parts. Save your $$ on things that will not leave you stranded in Tonopah NV in August.

Wet shackle bolts

I'm new to Montana 5ers. Purchased a 2011 3585sa Hickory edition. Don't do a lot of miles with it. 2nd trip, 50 miles into a 100 mile trip got a blowout. Took out fender trim on DS. Service came, put spare on. Went out next day & got used LT tire for spare. On way home, actually was bringing it back to dealer, 40 miles in, blowout on ODS, takes out that fender trim. Get it back to dealer next day. Get 5 new Sailun tires out of them. Take too long to tell story about damage. When replacing tires, they had to replace a shackle bolt. By wet bolts, does it mean that they can be greased?

UPDATE:
I ended up ordering the shear springs from Tweety's along with the MORryde Heavy Duty Shackle kit. I had a local spring shop make 4 new springs slightly heavier duty than the original set and reinforce all of the spring mounts as well as install the new parts. Took them about a week and I am happy with the results. It pulls straight and smooth. Here are some pics of the work.

On reflection I remembered when I had the Wet Bolts installed at 27K miles I had the shop save/give me the old parts. The Plastic Bushings were still in very good shape versus the pictures I had seen way back then of missshaped/ out of round / broken plastic that others had posted online and led me to pro-actively install the Wet Bolts, so I suppose they should hold up better even if they don't always get NEW grease?

Janan5243, yes the wet bolts are called such because you can grease them through zerk fittings.
