This is the bathroom window install
Many members have seen this Mod, but a few of you folks haven't.
Sue and I wanted a window in the bathroom, it's so small, so I stuck one in there...

I assume the chain saw had a fine tooth chain.

Ozz, is this for real or are you pulling our leg (s)? If it is for real, looks pretty good! Always enjoy viewing your mods. Michael

Looking at the link, I guess I have a few duplicates, anyway the heavy tools were just to be funny, I did the cutting with the Jig saw, I was surprised how high up the window had to be to be in the right place inside. I measured about 20 times to be certain it would fit correctly.
Michael, I did do the job, just had fun with it. As I always try to have fun with life.

How did you know where the AL framing was located so you could avoid it?
Thanks

I had a picture of the dew on the side of the Monte, can't find it. Early in the morning when it's wet, you can clearly see the outline of all the studs. I also used a stud detector to be double safe.

Wife would like that window in the bedroom slide in our newer Mountaineer as we only have the two on the sides. Our 04 Mountaineer had a large tilt out window which was great for sleeping. Thanks ozz, more honey do.

Thanks a lot Ozz. My wife saw this and guess what? Only kidding, nice job.
Where did you find the window?

I don't remember, but it is the window supplier for the trailers in Goshen. I tried the search, but no Joy...

Ozz, were you lucky with the location of the wall framing, or did you have to cut through some of those and then put in headers and footers??? And if so, how did you accomplish that? Again, nice job. Michael

Thanks Michael, they are Parsimonious with the wall studs, not too many there, the siding and foam construction is very stout, so reinforcement is not an issue. The flange of the window is enough to hold tight.

Ozz, just reviewed the photos you posted for the window mod...really does look nice! One of the items on our list of things we wanted to have in/on our fifth wheel was a bathroom window...of course, the 3400 does not have that option...until now. It does not look like a difficult mod...aside from the requirement to do many measurements (your template also looks like a real good idea). Did you have any "lessons learned" doing the mod, and have you had any issues since installation? Thanks, Michael

The other issue on our 3400RL was the bedroom window, it had no screen! They may have now, don't know. I found a window...I think it was Kinro? in Goshen, anyway, I was able to slide the screen-less window off the rail, slide a new slider/screened window on, and now we have a screen. I have those pictures somewhere.
Just be careful with the Jigsaw, it tends to wander a little with cutting both sides of the foam 'sandwich'.
Thanks, Texas5er, I love to fix, repair and do Mods on stuff. I bought the Montana new, tore it apart for 4 month's and arranged it the way I liked to have it.

Hi Ozz, Just wanted to let you know that I saw your pictures of the bathroom window last summer, and yes, had to have it. I ordered a window from my dealer, one that is on the slide out of the new front living room model of a 2010 montana. It was the perfect size to make the wife happy. It took me about two hours to put in in from start to finish. Made a valence to match, curtian on a spring rod and a pull down shade. She loves it, I'm happy. Thanks for the insperation.
